I think there's a lot to do in Galveston. Just depends on how much time you have and what you're looking to do. While I agree that the add-on prices are high, at least they let you know about them and can pre-buy before the cruise to save (a little) money. I think every cruise line has gone to charging for drinks, wifi, and things of the sort.
