This was our third cruise on Royal and we have a fourth cruise coming in April 2023. We have cruised on four other cruise lines and Royal is our favorite. You can't go wrong with a cruise and if you are like us with a cruise port close to home, Galviston-TX, it is a no brainer.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
With Royals new terminal up and running the embarkation was a breeze. The drop-off point and parking lots are all right there. From the time I dropped my wife off at the terminal with our bags, me parking the car and inline to board was maybe 25 minutes. e were going through the boarding process was about 20 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room was beautiful and the wait staff was excellant. The food choices were wonderful. The Windjammer buffet is also the best with even more choices and a is open most of the day. They do shutdown from a time to prep for the next food session of breakfast-lunch-dinner.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is always something going on aboard the ship so you can be as engaged as much or as little as you want.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to all the shows and were alway entertained and came away having been glad we attended the show. Lots of fun!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service and staff are top notch. They are always asking if there is anything they can do to help or get you something you need. Alway friendly with great service.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is in service almost 24/7/365 so with all that use the ship is alway clean and ready to go and there is alway people cleaning and repairing the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was a little bigger than the other inside rooms we have had. It was so nice with a good amount of room, besides, you don't spend a lot of time in the room. There is so much to do and see aboard the the ship.
Ship tip
Prepare to be treated very well and have as much fun as you want. The only other thing is if your room overlooks the promenade deck, it is a little more noisy until about 11 pm.
Lol. The port stores are pretty much tourist traps but well done tourist traps. Lol. Lots to eat and drink but the ship is a much better place to eat and drink. I did however alway saw people very much enjoying themselves on shore. I would suggest going on the excurisions those are great especially the dolphin encounter.
Getting off the ship is as easy as just walking off when your assigned time comes. We don't use the baggages service getting off the ship so it is just a matter of walking off the ship and going home.
