The worse cruise time I've taken in the past 3 years. From reservations to sailing.

Review summary

There is NO communication between or RCCL; so I don't know why one would book through a 3rd party. When asked about a room, would not want to make changes because it would be a "process" to do so their reply would be "no rooms available". BUT, if you were to call RCCL after, they will tell you there are room. So someone on this chain is lying to the paying customers.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Just like the others, the embarkation process was smooth and organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Unlike the other ships I've cruised with (2x with RCCL and 2x with Carnival), this may have been the worse. There were only 3 dining places that were offering free items. One was always just serving pizza and the other 2 were a given with the Main Dining and WindJammer buffet. Everything else had a fee associated with it. I recall in December 2021, there were about 5 restaurants minimum offering free food/beverage on a Carnival cruise to Mexico that my family and I enjoyed.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This was the first ship that did NOT offer any comedy shows. I was surprised as this was always a highlight on the past ships we sailed in. It is also unfortunate that it was a selling point to the family we invited (their first time to cruise) and there were NO comedy shows at all. Lastly, most activities had an early end time of 5pm just like the ice cream machine which was (self serve before covid) then with an attendent closing at 12am at the Carnival but closing at 5pm on RCCL.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
No comedy shows. Not much entertainment on board.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My nephew was able to avail on the kids programs daily. Thank goodness for that.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
On the first day, the staff at Main Dining were stern and not friendly (approachable) but throughout the cruise, they because nicer closer to the end of the cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Common areas were always clean. It was just the rooms on check-in day that were not cleaned well but rather just turned over. There were hair on the corner of the carpet and other stains on the wall.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
I was told that it would fit a family of 4 comfortably. That was not the case. The side beds when open would overlap onto the bed in the middle. Overall, the room is tight for a family of 4 plus their luggages. This room was not thoroughly cleaned at all. The sheets were just changed as if it were for the same family before us.

Ship tip

Best to call RCCL directly. Booking with is no help at all. There is no immediate reply via call or email on excursions and stateroom request. I was told that room 2558 and 2560 were 11 rooms apart but when I called RCCL, they told me they were just right next to each other. Poor customer service with . And if making reservations with them, good luck in getting help from RCCL because you will need to contact on any changes. Basically, each company just passing the blame after the payment has been made

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

The whole Bermuda inflatable was an added bonus and was fun to do. Thank you for having things to do on the port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and organized as always.
