Review summary

We had a great four day cruise! This was our first time on Adventure. We would sail with her again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had an 11:30 boarding time. We were on the ship in under 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good overall. We had several good meals at Giovanni’s and the service was great. We only ate in the main dining room once for dinner due to a miscommunication about My Time Dining.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Played lots of trivia an enjoyed the hot tubs as usual! (Forgot to play mini golf… )The Finish the Lyric and Love & Marriage game shows were fun!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Alan, the piano player at the Schooner Bar is very talented. We caught his Disney hits and Queen sing-a-long shows. He also does an Elton John set and and several all request sets. Yaraslov (sp?) the guitar player was really good as was Tonya the cruise director who sang a set of songs on the promenade. We hadn’t seen the HOT ice show before. Not sure if it’s new or just different from other ships. I have to give the show about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons a mixed review although it was entertaining. Best shipmates ever! Overall enthusiasm made everything more fun!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was great as usual. Our room steward did a good job but we only saw him twice. We usually get to know our room steward better.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was clean. There were some rust spots on our balcony which was a little surprising since we heard Adventure was refurbished recently. Then again, the area we were on may get more moisture.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were in a balcony room at the very back of the ship. The balcony was large and had two loungers, two chairs and a table. It was a great balcony room. We enjoyed watching the dolphins following behind us and the pelicans flying beside us as we left Galveston!

Ship tip

Use the app! It’s so helpful to be able to see what’s going on and to pencil in a schedule! The app is a great tool but don’t forget to ask for help if needed. We wanted to make reservations at a specialty restaurant but the app was only showing late dinner times. A staff member was able to make us a reservation at the time we wanted.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
We live in Central Texas so Galveston is very convenient.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We went to Playa Mia in January so we didn’t do an excursion this time. I did a brief shopping trip in port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did self assist for the first time and will definitely do that again. I think it was 20 minutes from cabin to car and that includes the shuttle ride to the parking garage! The facial recognition is such a time saver.
