Review summary

As with anything, if you look you'll find an issue here and there, but we loved it. Would defintely do it again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
With so few people on board, embarkation was very smooth. We walked off the bus at Noon and were on board by 12:20.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We take all dinners in the MDR, and found the food to be delicious and the service top notch! Samantha and Santosh were wonderful to us! This is not "fancy foodie" food, and will be unimpressive if that's what you're looking for, but its a nice meal experience for our kids, and in an atmosphere where they're more likely to try new foods than they would be if it was super over-the-top fancy.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
With so few people there wasn't a lot offered for the teens, but my sons did enjoy the Teen Speed Climb, and my husband and I enjoyed the shows, and the Broadway and 80s Name that Tune games. Flowrider, hot tubs, rock wall, ping pong, giant tic-tac-toe were all hits, and their mini-golf is super fun! Oh, we also enjoyed ice skating!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ice skaters were very good! The show concept didnt make a lot of sense to me, but the performances were great. The stage shows made more sense and were also very well done! We enjoy this type of stuff, in general.

Service and Staff

We sailed on Liberty OTS over Thanksgiving 2021, and while the desire and aim to please were certainly there, you just felt in the situation that they had literally just returned (we were like the 3rd or 4th sailing out) and were not yet firing on all cylinders. THIS, however, felt like cruising was BACK! The Adventure Crew was amazing, and you could just feel the difference with a ship and crew that have been back for almost a year.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
She's a beautiful ship, and the places where finishings are upgraded are great, but it makes the areas and finishes that are NOT yet upgraded feel even more dated. Our Jr Suite bathroom was an area this was particularly noticeable. Great size and having a full, deep tub was amazing, but the tile and grout are very old and mold has crept into certain spots.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice space. Still not a great option for 4 adult people (3 of whom are over 6 ft).*They moved us out of our Ultra Spacious OV w/sleeping for 6 due to "covid spacing policies." I really would not consider the "sofa sleeper" a reasonable sleeping space. It was rock hard. We loved the big balcony and the fact that it is actually within the structur of the ship helped provide some protection on our 2 very windy sea days so we could still enjoy being out near the water. The bathroom size and tub are great, but finishings are showing their age.

Ship tip

She's a good ship...an oldie but goodie. Midship cabins between decks 7 and 9 would be my go to for views and quiet.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was our third stop in Cozumel, so we went on our own to Mr. Sanchos and has a blast! This is an very easy port for going on your own, and I felt very safe with our taxi drivers.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
I wouldnt mind going back. We just hung out in the port, which was nice to have that option.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Having a passport with Galveston's facial recognition capabilities is AMAZING! We did self debark and you literally walk right off the ship, straight through the terminal, give a quick look at an IPad and away you go! 15 minutes from stepping off the deck to stepping on the transfer bus back to parking.
