We couldn't wait to start our cruise...we didn't want it to end...and we can't wait to cruise again. The experience was a great one. Especially after almost a year and half of no cruises...everyone (crew and passengers alike) was just so happy to be there and I think that made the experience even better. There was a genuine joy on board.
Safety and health protocols were in place and enforced. I felt safer that week on the ship than I do in my local grocery stores or at work.

Quick & easy check in process at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau...just minutes from the port. We arrived the day before and stayed the night here so we could just check out our room and be in place ready for cruise check in.
We had all our required documentation (passports, COVID vaccination cards, negative COVID test results, proof of check in on the RC app). Everything was checked; we received our Vaccinated Guest wrist bands; and handed my large suitcase to a porter before being directed to a shuttle that took us to the port. Service throughout the process was excellent.

Food and service were amazing! Our servers, Valentina and Saipul were excellent. We were so sad to leave them our final night on board.

The headliner shows (comedian AL Romas, juggler - I can't remember his name, singer Bryan Cheatham) all put on great shows.
Live music was everywhere on the ship, which I loved!
Cool Art Hot Ice (the ice skating show) was amazing!!!
The DJ in the "club" up on Deck 14 was terrible though...same songs every night and no smooth transitions at all!!!!

Ship Quality

The ship was spotless!! The layout was easy to navigate. We pretty much had explored the entire ship within a couple of days.
Cabin / Stateroom

The beds were horrible...so hard. We didn't get a good night's sleep the entire week, unfortunately. Also, the ONLY outlets in the room were on side of the desk. I understand AD is an older ship, so it doesn't have all the outlets/USB ports as later model ships do. This is something they definitely need to update in future renovations.
Other than these 2 things, the room served its purpose. And we loved our balcony.
Ship tip
Ask your stateroom attendant/cabin steward if they have anything to make the mattresses more comfy. Or bring your own item for this, if you can.
Definitely not your normal cruise port...It's a working, industrial port where you dock...but the Pirate's Cove Zipline and Water Park excursion was great...from the tour bus driver who was huge and named Tiny, told great dad jokes, and gave us such insightful info about the island, landmarks, history and current eventd...to the warm woman who met us at Pirate's Cove and shared the rules of the destination - which included having a shot with her at the bar. The food was very good...a traditional Sunday Bahamian Family meal.
Completely agree with you about feeling safer on a cruise ship than anywhere else. In spite of the bed issues, looks like you had a phenomenal cruise. Glad you enjoyed.
