Review summary

We had an amazing time and hated to see reality to show up. For us, we enjoy visiting different ports that way my husband gets to go diving in some of the most beautiful waters around. We did book another cruise but it’s not till September of 2021 to Alaska. That’s my bucket list place even though my husband won’t be able to go diving it’ll still be an amazing cruise.

Embarkation

We got there a little earlier than the time we were suppose to and it went great

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining was excellent, we ate there everyday except 2 nights. One of the nights we went to the Tex Mex theme for windjammer and the other night my husband was so wore out from his back to back diving excursions. The only specialty restaurant we went to was Johnny Rockets, it was great, went twice.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Went to the solarium pool which was always packed and you had to get there early to get a chair. There was always activities at the main pool from Zumba to music being played.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed what shows we went to see.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters, Wantono and Marianne in the main dining were so wonderful. They took very wonderful care of us. In fact, Marianne made me a rose from a clothed napkin right in front of my husband and me without either one of us noticing. I actually thought she was nervous, with just fidgeting with the napkin, until she was done, it was a long stem rose. Our room steward, Fnu Narno, was wonderful also. Every evening we would have a little towel animal show up, except for the one night when we stayed in due to my husband being so tired. We only asked for two things on our first day, an extra blanket for me and an extension cord for my husband’s cpap which Fnu was very punctual in getting.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout, design and common areas were all clean and maintained. On our cruise there were several people that came down the flu so you would see crew members wiping down things all the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was small but what do you expect for an inside cabin. We had enough space/room for us and all our luggage ( 4.5 bags). Room was always very clean when we would come back after either from excursions, walking around ship, being at pool area, ship activities or from dinner.

Ship tip

If you are wanting a chair in the solarium get there early on sail days if you’re interested in being around the pool area. Remember, it’s your vacation so do whatever it is you want to do.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Ft. Lauderdale is a very busy place. It was our first time there and was only there to get onto and off the ship.

Willemstad, Curacao

There were plenty of things to do here. We did a cave excursion. The only thing I noticed was all the trash where we were at. It might have been different somewhere else on the island but the closer you got to the port you could see as the trash. We did eat at a local restaurant, which was very good.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

5 out of 5
My husband did a dive excursion here. We did eat locally after his dive excursion. Again, there was trash here too but not like Curacao. Did do some shopping at this port.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
My husband had a diving excursion here also and loved it. He forgot this dive had a wreck to go see. He was very impressed with this dive. While he was diving I went into port for some site seeing and shopping. My husband enjoyed the diving he’s already thinking about just staying here for a week in the future.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking is just sad to see. With as many people on the ship trying to leave you’re going to have things not go as you as the vacationer would like. Lines are long to get in and have breakfast, to actually leave the ship, go through customs, to get out of the fort and so on. Royal does do everything they can to speed things up or to help.
