Review summary

Super ship, good location stop-offs. Entertainment great but food often only luke warm, and dress code totally ignored.

Embarkation

Very busy and not very well managed. Despite passing USA customs the previous day, the staff didn't understand that customs no longer stamp your passport!! So a long delay in providing evidence before we were allowed onboard, had to dig out hard copy of my ESTA!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Main dining room was superb, however food on first night was luke warm and resulted in a complaint to the manager. After that it improved a little. Dress code was very poor, people allowed in for the evening dinner sessions in T-Shirts, shorts and flip-flops! Even on the Black Tie formal night, people we wearing casual clothing. This totally spoilt the atmosphere of the evening meal. The other main restaurant (Windjammer) was total chaos. Always over-crowded often had to wait for a table to become free. Food was supposed to be hot be most of the time it was only luke warm. Not impressed with dining at all. Only positive was the waiters in the main dinning room were excellent.

Onboard Activities

N/A didn't do any of them.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were very good. Shame the ice-rink was so small, this had a negative effect on the superb skaters, resulting in several falls.

Children's Programs

We don't ahve any children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service, could not fault any of them. Very dedicated and passionate in providing a first class service. However, why were people allowed into evening dinning in such poor dress code? They should have been refused entry and told to dress smarter!!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
layout was great, however several of the mens toilets around the ship had excrement on the toilet seats. This made me feel physically sick and the following week on leaving the ship, one of our party had diarrhea all week - possibly due to a bug picked up from the gents toilets on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good, enjoyed the use of the balcony. Room very clean and in very good order.

Ship tip

Don't bother taking a lot of smart clothing, as you don't need it!!!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
Very big, very manic and very industrial. Only two lanes into the port, took around 30 mins to get into port from the main road. This caused a big expense on the taxi. There were nine ships in port, surely they should have been spread better???

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Enjoyed Cayman Islands as we had visited it previously. Not enought time to see much on the island though.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Very busy and beaches were very small. Continually hassled by locals to dine at their restaurants!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Beautiful beaches and clear blue sea. Really enjoyed our day there.

Disembarkation

Busy but well organised. Process took around 1 hour.

They have relaxed dress codes, formal nights are now dress your best. I personally don't care what others are wearing, we dress up every night. We still wear our best in formal nights. Everyone is on vacation so let them wear what they want. Don't let it bother you.
