Adventure of the Seas

7 Night Deep Southern Caribbean (San Juan Roundtrip)

Sail date: November 11, 2007

Ship: Adventure of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The ship was HUGE even for a 1st time cruiser. The suggested location of our stateroom by our agent was perfect as we had easy access to both elevators and very little noise from traffic.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Be sure to get on the waverunners and hit the Caribbean Sea here. We had the best time doing 60 mph over the waves. Be sure to have on good sunglasses when doing this as the salt water burns. Try the local food as it is amazing as well. Good chocolate and good shopping as well. Get your Rum Cakes here as they have the best prices of all the islands.
Don't Miss: $1 Heineken

Oranjestad, Aruba

We were not very impressed with the offerings of Aruba. It was a little "stinky" down the main drag the day we were in. There are a lot of shops but buyers beware. You are very likely to find some of the items offered here cheaper in St. Maarten or St. Thomas.

Willemstad, Curacao

The architecture is beautiful. The Dutch influence is very much alive is this port of call. Be sure to enjoy the many beers offered if you are a drinker. There is plenty of shopping and be sure to stop in at Jewels by Rani. Great shopping.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Great shopping for those who love it. Last port to get your black diamonds which are not easy to find on this island. Be sure to do a lot of your shopping here. This is where you will find a majority of the best prices on items.
