We just completed a 7 day cruise and it was so enjoyable. We were able to travel to many islands and explore them. Everyday held new things to do and experience.

Good cruise by JoanM4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: World Cruise

Overall, had a fun time. I had very high expectations for my first Celebrity Cruise vacation, but the cruise did not live up to expectation. The online service was painfully slow and the charges too high. I felt as though I was purposely being taken advantage of for the sake of the company's earnings. Staff in Online Celebrity was poor with one staff member being downright rude and arrogant. The Customer Relations desk staff couldn't have been nicer, while the Shore Excursions staff needs an attitude adjustment. The food was adequate with a lovely wait staff. The reservations person for Select Dining was wonderful. My cabin was an adequate size, but needs some work. The bathroom smelled a bit moldy - perhaps the shower curtain. There were times I felt pressured into spending money for the sake of the company's earnings. Too much push for booking specialty restaurants, to order drinks, etc. As a single, I am not pleased that I was charged full price for a room. I can understand your charging a fee, but not the full price for two. I didn't eat for two, didn't give the staff double the work, didn't take up two seats in the dining rooms, etc.

Easter on board - not all it's cracked up to be... by LifeInCamelot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Elizabeth / Destination: World Cruise

Easter is here again and this time two years ago, my husband, daughter and I were relaxing aboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth , cruising for 6 weeks on 2 sectors of the World Cruise.

As is usual on Cunard, no expense was spared in the lavish decorations that were made with real chocolate Easter eggs.

Everything looked and smelt too good to be true…

We were lucky enough to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the galleys where we caused a traffic jam in the Pastry Section…

Because we came across just a few Easter eggs that had our jaws open in awe…

And then we came across this sign…

But that didn’t stop us believing we would still be treated with an Easter feast by these wonderful staff of chefs…

Until, on Easter Sunday morning, we found these in our stateroom…

… these tiny eggs, that fit into the palm of my hand, were sadly not made by the lovely Cunard chefs and were past their use-by date too.

Have you had an Easter (or other holiday) that wasn’t what it was cracked up to be?...

A fantastic segment of a world cruise by SamuelG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Dawn Princess / Destination: World Cruise

A fantastic 13 day segment of a 104 day world cruise. The Australians who were more than half the passengers are a great laid-back people. The ship is getting a little long in the tooth and some of the crew is getting a little too laid back.

World cruise. - a dream fulfilled! by JudyB10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Odyssey / Destination: World Cruise

The Odyssey 's staterooms were spacious with cleverly-designed storage spaces everywhere. Bathrooms with separate shower and tub. Loved Seabourn Square, the heartbeat of the ship, with library, conversation nooks, Internet stations, coffee bar with pastries, sandwiches and ice cream, & a very efficient concierge area with 24/7 assistance. Great dining venues, and an incredible 2-deck spa! Passengers tend to be well traveled with great stories to tell.

p I boarded th QM2 in... by wallyhansen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: World Cruise

p I boarded th QM2 in Sydney Australia, and went as far as Cape Town. p The champaign in the room when I arrived was great, dressing gown and slippers supplied all fantastic and no extra cost. p I did not like the idea of not being able to go into certain dinning rooms, bars and decks as I was not a 1st class paying passenger. Although I had to pay for 2 people in my cabin even though I travel solo. Seeing signs saying No Access to this deck unless you are a 1st class passenger, was not my idea of a friendly ship. I was told the ship became more friendly once all the Aussies got on in Sydney. But I got the impression they cater more for American passengers, even the stage shows were aimed at Americans, playing their national anthem, a few Aussies called out Aussie, Aussie, Aussie oi, oi, oi. p I must mention I am not a Australian but British, but I felt proud to be amoungst the Aussies. p I loved the dinning rooms and even the buffet, I spoke to one First class person who called them the Pigs Trough !! p Speaking to other passengers in the laundry, and people who had cruised on both the QM2 and the Queen Elizabeth, they all said the Elizabeth was the better ship, as she was smaller and more exclusive, and silver service. p Queen Mary was on my bucket list, and I do not regret going on her, and when she pulls into a Port you are always made to feel special that you are on her. Would I cruise on her again,, humm not worth the money I spent, but I would never say never.

Great 65 Day Asia/Australia Cruise by DiannaB1

The ship clearly needs updating which it is scheduled to have. Despite this it is a wonderfully designed ship and rode the water well.

the QE2 needs to retired! by JaneW

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Queen Elizabeth 2 (RETIRED) 93 / Destination: World Cruise

Overall the ship is best for those on the top floors who spend little time in either cabins or public spaces. The lower level cabins are postage stamp size and many do not even have room for a chair. Especially avoid this ship if you are going on a longer cruise and aren't an expensive stateroom. The crew, however, were wonderful. They were very professional, gracious, and personable. They were quick to respond when things, such as sudden water pouring from the ceiling, occured. The itinerary was the best.

ULTIMATE WORLD CRUISE-strip of a Lifetime by ThompsBC

Glad we did it. I would like a more immersive experience in ports instead of so many. Many of the ports were commercial and not cruise terminals

Voyage to SouthAfrica Nov19 by sefton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Orchestra / Destination: World Cruise

Overall I was disappointed with the MSC Quality but my main issues were in the ships communication skills to clients which was very poor. Excursions very expensive and lack of knowledge and information from the excursion department left a lot to be desired. Excursion staff lack leadership and organisation attributes and at times were dismissive and rude. Waiters and Bar Staff were very engaging and polite but guest services are on the defensive as soon as you speak to them about anything and their internal communication skills between departments leaves a lot to be desired. This was my first cruise with MSC mainly due to the locations the ship was visiting but in future I would seriously reassess any cruises I would take where MSC are concerned. I have enjoyed far better quality and MSCs reputation of “The Ryan Air” of cruising seems to me to be appropriate. There was no facility on the cabin TV to view my bill hence the requirement to visit Guest Services every few days to obtain a printed copy of my updated statement to ensure my bill was correct. Pre Paid gratuities were also added to my bill and no explanation was forthcoming from Guest Services as to why they had done this even though I had already paid. If I had not pointed this out they would have expected double payment from me.
