French Polynesia by MMurrah

Leadership on this ship was bad. Captain is arrogant and had zero personality. Hotel direct Florin was the exception. He was absolutely all in and did a fabulous job. If there was a problem he fixed it, then followed up with us to let us know what had been done. Best ship hotel director ever! Best room stewards ever! Food? Here’s a shocker for you: on a 24 day French Polynesia cruise where everywhere you stop is lush with bananas and coconuts... you can’t get EITHER on board!!! About 10 days into the cruise I asked why and was told by the food and beverage director that the ship buys NOTHING from any of the places we visit!! That ALL THEIR FOOD, 100%, comes from the US because one time they had a problem with food purchased elsewhere. So this cruise left from Singapore, then took on more passengers in Brisbane, then more in Auckland. And all our food was from the US! So zero bananas for us. That was a problem for MANY passengers. I asked the food and beverage director why we couldn’t have some tropical fruit sorbets like coconut and was told they buy them all from the US also and don’t make them. He was insulted when I asked! But confirmed that they don’t. This was my first (and last) Holland America cruise. I’ll stick with Celebrity and NCL thank you very much. No problems with either.

Trans-Pacific Cruise by dhamel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Transpacific

Every time was very good. The only part to be improved is the food option in the Windjammer which in this cruise was mostly always the same choice.

Soooo worth doing this itinerary. And from this trip, don't not do a Princess cruised just because the ship is old, remember it is Princess.

Great trip, good variety of ports by mdlafond

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Transpacific

We chose this vacation for ports of call and timing, had a great time. Port of Vancouver dropped the ball on getting everyone on board in a timely fashion. After speaking with other guests that have used this port before their experiences have been repeated each time. Unless we get word that the service has improved I will not use the Port of Vancouver again. In 15 different embarkation this was by far the worst. There were Platinum members that also waited up to two hours.

What a GREAT Cruise.... by SitEli

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Transpacific

We were suppose to leave at 5 but thanks to the workers on the dock and the UNION they are in we left at 10 pm. They even took breaks siting around. The check in was very long because they only had a small number of agents checking people in.

The "Willie Wonka" Cruise by Travelingwoman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Transpacific

Ended up sending a total of 7 meals back to the kitchen for various reasons, and food was mediocre overall. Many of the restaurant staff were brand new, and it appears this was their training cruise. Guest entertainers were, for the most part, third rate and a couple were terrible. Ship is old and looks it.

Good Time, But Foggy Weather by sewmuchfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: Transpacific

We got off the ship in San Diego and headed for the airport, so cannot give a rating for that port. The HIGHLIGHT of this trip was the Canadian Rockies pre-cruise land tour, but we very much enjoy every cruise we've taken! This one was no exception.

A Moldy Review! by AZCruiseaholic

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: Transpacific

WE ARE NOT COMPLAINERS! but in this case, must. The cabin steward could not get the extremely strong mold smell out of the bathroom. The smell was so bad, we had to sleep with the veranda door open. Thankfully, a Pacific Itinerary. They tried everything to no avail. Even brought roses to mask the smell. We should have demanded to change rooms, but were assured it would get better. Noticed a moldy smell in numerous parts of this ship. Other passengers had similar stories, were told one cabin had black mold under the sink and the ship tried to cover it with tape. This is wrong! Never again on Infinity.

West Coast Cruise by MaxAndHogan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: Transpacific

Nice itinerary that gave us the opportunity to visit places on the West Coast. Could have been a day or two longer. Ship was very nice, not too big and was easy to get to different areas on the ship. Staff was very pleasant and courteous.

Another Unique Experience by shazamdroid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Transpacific

We chose this itinerary to experience a repositioning cruise. For that reason, I found the entire cruise enjoyable because we had several sea days in which to relax. Can't say that I would do this again because Petropavlovsk and Hoonah were big disappointments. The Japan ports were the best!

Good ship, wonderful itinerary by dlee17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Transpacific

The ship was good. Staff were courteous, food was good, ship's condition was good. The entertainment was ok. The final show, cirque bijou, was pretty good. Other than that, a lot of people just walked out during the show. Itinerary was very good. That's what made us take this cruise. Tokyo to seattle via alaska. Japanese ports were pretty good. Alaska was very good. We did not enjoy Russia.

Sea day passed very quickly do as much or as little as you want. Make sure you try some of The specialty restaurants. They are excellent and break up the dining room routine.

French Polynesia by rtofny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Transpacific

Had a great time. Met a lot of nice people. Made new friends. Don't like the little cutbacks. Like a chocolates on the pillow and chocoholics night. I didn't mind the tips have gone up. The kitchen and housekeeping staff are well worth it. My biggest complaint was the visa that I was unaware of. In the end I purchased two next S. Wasn't going to do it based in my last experience. But this cruise was so much better than the one I took.l in May. I like carnivals internet policy. It's $5 a day for social media. It's a great idea when you need to contact family.

MS Volendam Vancouver to Tokyo by hwpagels

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Volendam / Destination: Transpacific

Overall we had a great and interesting trip. The Filipino and Indonesian crew were very friendly and worked very hard! Others no so much. Embarkation/disembarkation was really well done. The Gala night was great also. The drinking water was terrible, tasted over chlorinated and stale. Had to buy some on land as on board prices are ridiculous. Too many crew members were sitting and eating in the Lido in prime spaces and were not friendly to the passengers around them.

Very good long journey by hafkey333

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Transpacific

Great cruise, but very long with 12 days at sea and one day of 20-26 foot waves in the Pacific. We were ready to get off the boat after a day of 20-26 foot waves. Mr toads wild ride. Our highlight was snorkeling with the humpback mama and baby in Tahiti, and the all day jetski/atv adventure in Moorea.
