very good by katia120

It was a very good cruise. The extra day at sea after Tauranga is absolutely NOT NECESSARY. Being in New Zealand for 10 days it would have been nice to invite a local Maori show on board.

Great experience by mmfair

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The staff was wonderful, our cabin person, WayIn, was super helpful Our table 440 had an amazing wait staff However I felt that everything was designed to get more money, the charge for the non alcoholic drink card should be per couple, it was truly not worth it. There were very little things to participate in unless you were a drinker. Only 2games of bingo and that too was overpriced. I think when we spend that much money for a cruise then we should not be nickeled and dimed the whole trip. I can say that this is the best way to see New Zealand

Splendid scenery, mediocre weather by jcdolphin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Unlike Royal Caribbean that has the adult only and super fun Quest game , this ship doesn’t do that. The 3 tenors show, Forza, was great along with the Cirque like acrobat show but most of the other shows were lackluster. The lobster and most lamb dishes in the dining room were delicious but many other food items weren’t that good. Pizza in the buffet was terrible. Apple pie in dining room was horrible as well as the pitiful cannoli desert.

New Zealand was beautiful. Didn’t get to go to a scheduled scenery due to rough seas so we were at sea 3 days before first port. by jaaron1102

Solstice slightly off colour by gwebsterg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

6th celebrity cruise. They are penny pinching, no daily news digests printed for guests. No speciality restaurants for suite guests other than excellent luminae. have to ask for fruit in suites. Cannot use beverage package for room service drinks. only 1 device allowed on internet package. generally felt crew arrogant, not as friendly as Constellation. Still had very good cruise/holiday.

Spectacular New Zealand by joekrajew

Great experience visiting the ports and surrounding areas via shore excursions. The cliffs and mountains were spectacular. Wonderful tours of the land where Lord of the Rings was filmed.

Australia/ New Zealand by SoloTraveler1

Dining staff had bad attitude towards solo travelers. Food was no better than a cafeteria / diner. Nothing to do on sea days. Casino staff were great!

worst ever by rwkimo

Not sure there really was a Cpt. on board. Never saw him. Every one seemed to be in business for them selves. Cruises that are good, the Cpt. is daily inspecting the operations !

Nice but some issues by LovingCruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: South Pacific

The ship is quite beautiful, albeit older and with some AC issues. The French Polynesian islands of Bora Bora and Moorea were the most beautiful ever.

Fantastic, repeatable experience. You'll see us again. by brichardson4502

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Paul Gauguin / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

What can we say. We weren't sure what to expect and all our expectations were exceeded. We became close friends with 270 passengers and even better friends with all the staff. Can't say enough of how attentive and wonderful they were to us. I wish we could call each of them out by name but I can't remember all 220+ staff - suffice it to say they were all great!

Exciting, Amazing, Brilliant, Thrilling and Spectacular by beaujel15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific

Excellent staff; but most amazing: meeting 900 Aussies and a few KIWI's; laughed, made new friends for life. To Emily, Will, the Martini Bar Staff: extraordinary; Mr. Richard Spacey, our cruise director was a born comedian and skilled dancer but a so so Volleyball player. Unforgettable cuisine and staff. Amazing entertainers.

Would definitely check out Celebrity cruise destinations before others. Have to add that the Art Auctions were excellent and all concerned in running and organizing them were amazing, rate them 10 + also our cabin steward was first class.

Many G'days on our voyage around Australia by joekrajew

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Australia was wonderful. We got to experience the opposite seasons of the Southern Hemisphere and differences in climate - hot in the north and cool/chilly in the south. Every port of call was unique and enjoyable. It was a long cruise but well worth it.

Great Overview of New Zealand by mphpjh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Majestic Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The cruise gives you a great overview of New Zealand, but my husband and I should have done a land tour to give us more time to see New Zealand. So much more to see, but you are limited on time when you are cruising. Also, do NOT book your tours directly with Princess. They overcharge for their tours. We purchased out tours with and wth Viator. Note: Make sure your allow time to get back to the ship in time.

Easter Island spectacular!! Great island cruise but not to return to same locations on same cruise. by rhulgan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

We loved some of the small islands, Easter Island and Peru...but disliked when we returned to some of the islands again to fulfill the 48 days.... repeating itineraries. Tahiti was not a great island !

Easter Island and more by dsquare

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Maasdam / Destination: South Pacific

The overall itinerary was fantastic, with Easter Island being the main drawing card. The stops in Costa Rica were disappointing because of road blockages most of the excursions were cancelled. The voyage southward toward the equator was rather cool with overcast skies in large part but when the ship got to Easter Island the weather turned great and remained so for the rest of the voyage. The captain made a great decision on the way to Easter Island by changing course to avoid a storm which made the voyage more comfortable and gave us great weather for visiting the Island. The voyage to and through French Polynesia was great.

Fraudulent advertised port-of-call at Pitcarin Island. by twendling49

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Maasdam / Destination: South Pacific

Poor cabin conditions at the start of the cruise and the fraudulent advertising/marketing of Pitcairn Island as a port-of-call made an otherwise enjoyable cruise disappointing.
