French Polynesia-Culture and Breathtaking Scenery by django12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Breeze

The cruise is a great way to see many islands and learn about the history and culture of these amazing islands. We enjoyed the mix of land and water excursions that we did. We are not avid snorkeling people so this worked out well for us. It was great to unpack at the beginning of the trip and be set to go vs. changing hotels every few days and travelling to different islands on our own. If your main interest is water activities ie snorkeling and diving, then my recommendation would be to skip a cruise and pick one or two islands to visit on your own. The reason I’m recommending this is because although there are snorkel and dive excursions offered through the cruise, the length of time you get to do these is usually limited (ie 1-4 hours).

Best snorkeling I have every done, but food could use some improvement. by sreynoso

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Breeze

Everything on the cruise was great except the food. The food was mediocre. On other cruises I have been on the food has been amazing. I wish there were more American/Mexican/Italian choices. The names and descriptions of the dishes were difficult to understand what was in the dish. You can only go to a specialty restaurant once. Not sure this cruise would suit children. We saw very few children and there did not seem to be much for children to do.

This ship and this itinerary offered a marvelous way to experience French Polynesia. The beauty of the islands, the warmth of the locals, the elegance and comfort of the vessel, and superb ship's staff are a combination for a perfect vacation.

Fabulous First Time on Windstar by CWGriswold

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Breeze

The islands of French Polynesia are definitely a bucket list trip and exploring with our first Windstar Cruise was a wonderful experience. Whether you want to enjoy the water or experience island history and culture, there is something for everyone and with Windstar it all seems easier and less crowded than a big ship experience. It was our first small ship experience but won’t be our last. If you need a tropical island getaway for few days of sun and sea then consider this itinerary with Windstar.

Get away, Relax, and Enjoy by phowe1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Breeze

Loved the islands and snorkeling excursions, especially the pearl farm. Loved talking with all the passengers. Don't think I would cruise on this small a ship if being at sea for days. Windstar needs to find a better way to provide water to go! Plastic throw away bottles are ruining our oceans!

First Windstar Experience by Mrsmarinelli44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Breeze

We felt very special and well cared for on this cruise. The hospitality team was friendly, accommodating, easy to find and interact with and attentive. The islands were beautiful. Given the size of the ship, there were nights that were very rocky and we found it difficult to sleep… bring ear plugs - Dramamine is free at medical. This is not something that can always be controlled. It is a smaller ship, but older so could be design and engineering that may be better on newer smaller ships. Overall, we would 100% recommend this cruise. Nice diverse group of people and never felt crowded.

Beautiful Tahiti but food on Windstar Star Breeze not so great by Tyl1991

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Star Breeze

Tahiti is wonderful, there's no words for it. Unspoiled nature and great people. Cruise was relaxing and I really enjoyed it but I was quite surprised that the food was not better. Breakfast and lunch were fine but dinners were never that great. I even skipped dinner one night just because it wasn't worth the effort.

Oceania Disaster by menardla

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nautica

Don’t go on Oceania Nautica. Yes the food is excellent but being stuck on this small ship with no port stops,There is nothing to do. As we were told by the senior staff we shouldn’t have spent our hard earned money on this once in a life time cruise. With that kind of attitude by this billion dollar company I am surprised and disappointed that they are still. In business.

Unacceptable airfare reservation from Miami to Papeete by GregorySBGSB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit

Airfare Norwegian booked from Miami to Papeete is unacceptable. I was in cabin 2am I missed first daylunch and dinner on ship I couldn't visit Tahiti at all. Next day I was very tired to properly see Moorea and Norwegian gave us $250 pp " compensation" with restriction how to spend it. It is a joke. Can I see Tahiti now for $250? What a joke and rip off..

If you are looking for a bucket list cruise this is a good one. Hawaiian Island. You cross the equator, and you see French Polynesia. The price for the cruise was a bargain.

A Great Experience on NCL's Smallest Ship by nnpguy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Spirit

Overall a great experience. Staff were amazing, the energy and vibe of the ship and guests were super positive and happy. No messy drunk partiers or noisy kids. Still lots of activities and music to be entertained by. The ship was gorgeous from its recent renovation - beautiful spaces, particularly the Spinnaker Lounge, Social Club, and even the library/multipurpose room where many people hung out every day. Food was on par for NCL, and the available excursions were great~!

Interesting Adventure by billvfitz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit

This was a "make-up" cruise for a COVID-cancelled trip and was overall an enjoyable experience (other than the arduous 24+ hour travel to Tahiti). The only negative experience was the billing dispute that was not resolved (Latitudes discount not properly applied) and the indifference of the Guest Services staff.
