it was a very good cruise by HankS

Sail date: /
Ship: Rotterdam Retired / Destination: South America

one of the reasons for my taking the cruise was that i had encountered the ship on the seas and in the ports on a few previous cruises. It had always impressed me so thought I should experience it "real time". It's a great ship and obviously has been maintained very well.

Penquin cruise by KengL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: South America

Older ship due for refitting in Sep 2011. People with allergies to dust may want to consider that older ships have carpets that may be a problem even if they clean it well. Celebrity crew tends to be very friendly. Food is good but my-time dining tends to be slow on this size of ship (Infinity, Millenium, etc). Announcements are kept to a minimum and passengers are well informed either on TV or in print. Embarkation and disembarkation and excursions are well organised.

Repositioning Cruise by JonR2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: South America

We have been on the Mariner before in the Caribbean, and since we did have so many days at sea, it was nice to have a larger ship with lots of things to do. But even with that 30 days is a long time especially when half of them are at sea. But the size of the ship mitigated this to some extent

An unforgetable experience. by IsabelC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Veendam / Destination: South America

It was great experience for me to be on this cruise. The bad part came when we had to go on shore. I felt like they preffered the pasangers that purchased from them, the on-shore trips than those who didnt. When it was time to go on shore, those who didnt take a paid ship excursion didnt get to get out till 3 or 4 hours after the anounced docking and clearing time. That was the worse thing I experienced in this cruise. It was like beign descriminated and it was a very awful feeling. My recomendation is that they alternate pasengers going out to give all an equal oiportunity. Also they had the worse coffe you could ever drink.

a great trip by HarryB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South America

We were 1st time cruisers and have to say the ship and the staff on the radiance of the sea was above our expectations. We were the last group to go around cape horn as carribean cruise lines has dropped this from its list. The day we rounded the cape it was clear and sunny (cool ) and the ocean was as calm as you could get it. Overall it was well worth going.

Nice cruise but ... by ErnstM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: South America

It was a very nice cruise. There should have been less expensive land excursions. I met a lovely Chilean Family with two beautiful and charming daughters but i don't have their email and they must have lost mine. Meeting these wonderful people was one of the highlights of my trip. (Should you read this, please contact me at ernstmolins@sbcglobal.net. I would love to hear from you).

Friendly crew in dining room. Average to poor selections in buffet. Not much of interest to do on board between ports.

Un crucero imperdible by AlbertoW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South America

Another great vacation on a cruise ship by LeopoldJ

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: South America

Generally speaking the ship was in great conditions. Clean, rooms and decks very well maintained. The ports of call were well chosen. What we did not like were the following points: - Lack of organization at the boarding of the cruise. No directions on what to do and where to go.People were handled as a human herd. - Lack of organization at the disembarkment. We were supposed to leave the ship at 8.15 am because we had a driver waiting for us at the terminal. We disembarked at 9.20 am, had to wait another 15 minutes for our luggage toshow up, and.... our driver was gone. Now we had to wait another 1 hour in line to catach a taxi!! - Waitng for organized tour was systematically between 45 and 60 minutes, with a messy exit of the lounge when your tour number was called. It would be way easier to organize these tours by sections and timing. This would make the flow of information and people much easier. - The cruise management allows people to read and even to take a nap in areas such as the Garden Cafe which is supposed to be a restaurant, not a library, and in bar areas. At the positive side: we had the best cruise director ever since our 7 cruises. (6 with Princess)

Very disappointing RCL experience by LindaH22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South America

The getting on/off the ship was horrendous. Extremely poorly managed and left us with the uneasy feeling that if there were a true emergency we were doomed. The ship wasn't very clean, right down to dirty glassware and cutlery. They took one city out of the itinerary and then we couldn't dock at a second location. Seemingly refunding our shore excursions and port tax was supposed to make us feel better. The entertainment was mediocre and passengers were inconsiderate.

The absolute best ever !!! by WendyS14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess (RETIRED) 558 / Destination: South America

There were a few things lacking, like missing a 24 hour buffet and good entertainment, but overall this was the best cruise I have ever been on. The staff are very friendly, the ports and offered excursions extraordinary, movies were 1st run, Library well stocked, steak house truly excellent, and good choices of onboard activities. The smaller size of the ship added to the camraderie, but also added to feeling the motion more intemsely.

Best Cruise vacation ! by LenA137754368

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

This smaller ship and cruise itinerary provided a warm vacation experience... Enjoying not only the Galapagos Island nature/wildlife but the ship guests/staff were like on big happy family! (And this is from a couple that typically like wildlife/nature first...)

And I Spent How Much to Do This? by Hana1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: South America

When my husband suggested the trip, I was a bit hesitant. But it was time to plan a vacation, and we do like to travel abroad, so I agreed. The fact that the ship's itinerary put it in Rio for two days during Carnaval was the definite draw. In anticipation, we booked our shore excursions ahead of time, so as not to be disappointed by not being able to maximize our experience ashore. Unfortunately, we found the ship's Carnaval tour package price to be excessive for the description of the activities. Even worse, was the fact that no options or suggestions were offered in lieu of the big money tour, As well, it was never mentioned that if you did not purchase a ticket to view Carnaval in the Sambadromo, you essentially were not going to see it at all.

Trip to the End of the World by LynneC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: South America

The ship is very beautiful and modern. There is plenty to do and see for everyone. We were busier than we are at home. But the best is that we were taken care of from dawn to dusk. This is why we enjoy cruising so much. It really gives you a perfect REST.
