Radiance of the Seas

Sail date: November 23, 2008

Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The getting on/off the ship was horrendous. Extremely poorly managed and left us with the uneasy feeling that if there were a true emergency we were doomed. The ship wasn't very clean, right down to dirty glassware and cutlery. They took one city out of the itinerary and then we couldn't dock at a second location. Seemingly refunding our shore excursions and port tax was supposed to make us feel better. The entertainment was mediocre and passengers were inconsiderate.

We would have preferred open dining times.

Service and Staff

Some were terrific, others made you feel like you had to do everything yourself. The Spa was absolutely the most disappointing experience.

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

Just to be able to say you were in the most southern city in the world is worth the stop.
Don't Miss: Tierra del Fuego National Park

Punta Arenas, Chile

5 out of 5
The trip to the penguins is worth it but hire a private driver as it takes too long to load and unload the bus and its unnecessarily costly.

Punta Del Este, Uruguay

5 out of 5
This is Uruguay's vacation playground. Absolutely astonishing that only 10k people live there year round as it has dozens and dozens of highrises.

Pros: The stateroom attndt and waiters were great.

Cons: I have 4 pages that I'm sending to RCL to tell them.

Recommends Radiance of the Seas? No.
