A wonderful cruise on the Rhine. All excursions were very well planned and the towns we visited were beautiful.

This was our first Viking river cruise. We were not disappointed. We learned so much about the Netherlands and the culture. We got to experience going through a number of locks during the cruise, and that was very interesting. The food was excellent. It was fun sampling foods from the region at each dinner. The Viking staff was great and very attentive to our needs. We met so many great people on the ship. We are looking forward to doing another Viking cruise, perhaps an ocean cruise next time.

All four in our group (2 suites) agree this was an outstanding cruise. However all four of of us are fully vaccinated and all returned with Covid. Two very mild and two moderate flu symptoms. If we had scheduled a post extension in Amsterdam it would have been ruined.

we had to wait 3 years to finally go on our cruise because of covid and it was even better than we imagined. The staff from housekeeping to managers were wonderful. The servers were wonderful, and the Chef did an amazing job with the food. We were only a few days in and already thinking of booking our next Viking Cruise.

Cruise is very scenic with a lot of fascinating history. Bring your walking shoes, we covered a lot of ground. Cruise is relaxing with little onboard entertainment but that is what we anticipated. Intimate environment leads to making acquaintances onboard. Our cruise was organized by Vivian who is always a pleasure to work with and our vacation went smoothly as planned. She has great insights / recommendations and has planned many, many vacations for us. We have recommended her to many of our friends over the years.

Lovely itinerary along the Rhone. The larger towns and city (Avignon, Arles, Lyon) were of more interest and provided quality local guides. Disappointment with day tour to Ardeche in terms of small-town visit. The excursion to Beaujolais was very disappointing. The chateau on our tour was run down and wines were poor quality compared to some other passengers' experience. I found this with their Bordeaux trip as well. Viking needs to do better quality control to ensure that all passengers are having the same quality experience. That said, I would recommend this cruise and will travel Viking again but feel they have lost some of their quality perhaps as a result of its expansion to ocean and expedition cruises.

Our 9th Viking cruise. 5* service. Good food, but limited menu. Afternoon onboard activities were minimal with most days nonexistent. A lot of time for rest and naps. Older ship (2013). Bathroom has translucent window in shower and when bathroom light is turned on at night, the whole room gets lit up. Not good if your spouse is sleeping. Our shower drain backed up twice during the cruise. Staff did an outstanding job and always friendly. At times, felt that they were a little short-staffed in lounge, as we experienced longer than expected waits. Ports were OK, nothing exciting or places we would ever visit again. Wish we would have went in March-May to enjoy the tulip season. June is too late.

My first river cruise and based on the service quality, food, and overall experience we have already booked our next adventure.

For those who want a low-key relaxing experience in Europe I highly recommend doing a River Cruise

Viking needs to step up it's communication, in all forms. The few missteps we had resulted from this. Unfortunately on a 7 day trip, 3 unexpected things stand out disproportionately. Glad we did a river cruise, but I think for us once was enough. (Also see review of Koblenz)

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise and the AMA experience. Would definitely book another cruise and recommend AMA to friends and family.

If you are looking for a calm quiet cruise with a few activities to do if you want, this is for you. We did one or two excursions at every port, so you get a feel for the place you are docked at. Overall a very pleasant experience.

We've been to Paris before, but this trip was different. We loved Monet' garden. That was one of our reasons for selecting this trip! It did not disappoint. We truly appreciated our terrific cruise program director (Ken). He arranged for a special ceremony at the American cemetery. It was very moving and I particularly appreciated being recognized for my military service.

Will absolutely book another River Cruise with Viking.

The cruise was fine with exception of the 10 hour river cruise on the way to Budapest which was pretty boring. Nothing really planned for this part of the cruise.

This was our first river cruise and has a marvelous time. Also, we are very interested in the small ship experience and will be considering Viking in the future.

Did not get a good sleep due to the noise of water system. Food are great but don’t have that many options to select.
