Disappointed Trip by yingyaoh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess

There were a few ports not worth visiting because of limited points of interests. Restaurant service staff need a lot of training or retraining. some updates needed for the ship

Fantastic Suez Canal Dubai Trip by lovetocruisenc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge

This was a fantastic cruise and experience. Checked off many boxes on my bucket list. Each city just kept getting better. We had 7 days at sea, but there was plenty to do on the ship, like eat and oh yes ice cream.

Safe Incredible Experience by lhtapper1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Resilient Lady

This is an adult cruise line so their shows had very adult themes in them. You must have a working smart phone to deal with their ship app which controls everything. An ipad is in the room to control curtains, lighting, and TV. They are trying to be trendy and one should not be prudish being on board.

Great Cruise around Africa by oharasteve

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam

Great itinerary with great stops. Too bad the Hamas thing prevented us from getting to Petra. But still totally a great experience. We didn't bother with the Atlantic crossings.

Amazing African Continent by kharumi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam

It was very educational for us to learn about slave trade history by visiting several West African countries. Our ship was the last one to go through Suez Canal before the interruption by Yemen. We were blessed with great weather and smooth sailing for the entire duration. Although we couldn’t visit Aqaba and Sharm El Sheikh ports due to Israel and Hamas war, it was a great trip overall.

Trip should be taken by everyone by jmsikora

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam

This cruise is not relaxing like a Caribbean cruise. The weather can be (and was) brutally hot at times. But it is worth it from the perspectives of history (ancient) on the East Coast, and history (recent) on the West Coast. You get a real education and appreciation for what you have in the US as well as why many people from Africa risk it all to get to Europe and the US. In many ports, you have to look beyond the litter, rundown conditions, and poor economics to see the friendlieness of the people. Holland America did a very good job of mixing the ports up so that you see (I think) the full spectrum of Africa. One trip won't show you everything but the sheer variety of people, cultures, languages, food, and history is overwhelming.

Great cruise with some not so good ports by vanessasaenz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Zuiderdam

Overall great cruise. Boat is old with many leaks but we had not issues and it was very pleasant experience. Staff could not have been better. Even the Captain was very friendly and informative. Africa is a very difficult place to maneuver even the Cruiseline had a lot of problems with ports, government staff and shuttles. Africa is what I call an appreciation cruise. You learn to appreciate where you live compared to this continent that seems to be so engrossed in corruption and poverty that seems unable to escape it. It can be a very sad experience.

Great trip and wonderful way to see Africa by jhermanowski7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam

We were so excited to see this part of the world that we never experienced before. It was eye opening with beauty and also poor conditions compared to what we have. Amazing views, animals, people and cultures. The ship and staff were also excellent. A most memorable trip.

Not What I Expected by PLG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Explorer

I expected more from a luxury cruise line that has been around a while. I have taken 8 cruises, all with "all-inclusive" luxury cruise lines. I had hoped this would have been the best based upon ratings and reviews. It was not, unfortunately. The food, entertainment and tours could all be improved given the brand. The jury is out on whether I will book this cruise line again.

We actually border the ship in Vancouver, BC. We toured through Alaska and on to Japan. It was a wonderful fun cruise.

Absolutely outstanding by bjf5242635

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mekong Jewel

This was a birthday cruise for my husband’s 75th birthday and our first experience with Uniworld. We couldn’t have been happier. It was so organized and so well run, and we can’t think of a thing to make it better.

Super hard trip by madison650

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: AmaDahlia

This is a super hard cruise both because of the extreme heat and the difficult walking terrain. In abu simbel the golf carts took people down but then were out of service on the way up people had medical conditions who could not be brought up. People with sever walking issues were forced to walk up people were in tears! I think better descriptions are needed to rate the severity of the tours and the Egyptian gvt needs to do something about infrastructure by tourist areas

Nebula cruise by shapiro6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess

We were overall disappointed because we missed two ports, the sail they the straits, and lost money $100) when we bought tickets from the Tokushima city festival before, festival excursions were offered. Also disappointed in the amount of the future cruise credit (25% off the fare only), believe a 40% credit is more in line with what we missed.

Very interesting Japan Cruise by gcabanasmail

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Diamond Princess

If you are choosing this cruise, consider some important items: It is really hot and humid during this time in Japan and in all the stops of the cruise. We were lucky not to have rainy days during our cruise, but this might be a possibility during these dates. Although you are going to be in the cities during the festivals, the cruise excursions do not have any options to really enjoy them. If this is an important item for you, please make independent arrangements. Although there were some excellent cruise excursions, they are not all the shore excursions available through other sources. Half of the passengers are from Asia and the cruise caters to its Japanese clients.

Excellent service, great ports, poor quality of food and wine by jorge20617275

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Diamond Princess

Dining and cabin staff is amazing. Others always tired, overworked and in a bad mood, like guest services. Shows need to be updated, juggler borders in sexual harassment, Japanese cultural shows were missed. Ship needs updating, and food lacks quality. Ports are awesome but disembarking is terrible. A very 70’s experience. Doing this through United was also terrible, no help or follow up at all.

Great orientation of Japan by markmamin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Everything was good but we would have appreciated knowing beforehand that the itinerary changed from Russia to Korea. It was a disappointment because we booked the cruise hoping to see the Russian far East island.
