My Husband and I missed the whole cruise due to sickness by susanl471

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

Sad to say, when we entered the ship, we were beyond

excited to celebrate his Big Birthday on the cruise.

When we boarded, we were told to go enjoy a Buffet

lunch in there public dining area!

so we ate, and while eating I notice people we touching the food, then

licking there fingers, then going to station to staion

touch and  contaminating food!!!

Hence, the next morning day 2 my husband and I

were very sick, and not to  contaminate other  passengers

we   Quarantine ourselves for the rest of the cruise!

missing dinners, shows, and ports of calls!!

And all the perks that come with being A Diamond Plus

member on RCCL.

if your company could relate this review to our cruise it

would be appreciated!

Our problem of getting sick on this cruise, came from

people  contaminating food by touching it , and causing

us to  contract a virus that lasted the entire week!

Brandt's Review by brandtpg1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: North America

The best part of the cruise was watching the interaction between Matt (the cruise director) and Kaylee (the assistant cruise director). The are a great complement to each other.

Improvements to the cruise is the disembarkation process at the very end of the cruise. Too much waiting, for too many people, going too many places all at once.

Recommendations: I would recommend this cruise to a friend.

Anthem Always by bhwood

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

My favorite part of the Anthem was how quick you can embark and disembark from Bayonne, NJ port. The modern decor and the closet space in the cabin was great.

If you have dined on RCCL cruises you know that the Windjammer (buffet) is normally not the place to eat. However on the Anthem at times it was better than the main dining room because of the variety of food selections and the made to order pasta and Asian stations. The seating availability is still the one improvement that could be achieved in the Windjammer.

The shows were great and even comparable to Broadway.

Overall the Bermuda to Boston and back to Cape Liberty was a good itinerary.

I would definitely select the Anthem again.

Kinda Boring by amylou1978

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: North America

Not much was going on this trip.  The singing and dancing shows need to go and the ship definitely needs to be renovated.  In our stateroom we had a total of 2 plug-ins to use.  I think we'll go back to Carnival for our next cruise.

Azamara Quest Hemingway Hideaways by ragtimedan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Quest / Destination: North America

Our first cruise on Azamara and we were very impressed with the ship.  We booked for New Orleans so the change of plans and visit to Cuba was a plus.  However, changing Mobile AL to Tampa was a negative for us.

Grandeur of the Seas Cruise by sandrareavis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: North America

We enjoyed our cruise.  The ship needs refurbishing.  We like the size of the ship - under 2,000 passengers.  Met many friendly people. The food was great!  Disappointed that we didn't get to Cococay.  It was too windy to tender.

The staff on this cruise were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful!  The food/restaurants were outstanding. While we didn't get to go to Coco Cay due to bad weather, the cruise was a great time.

Great cruise! by dandghicks

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: North America

Outstanding staff, entertainment, and food. Would have liked more on-board educational offerings especially about the ports visited. A highlight was presentations by captain and crew about ship operations, their backgrounds, and living conditions on-board.

Awesome cruise to Mexico! by Cruiser50148807

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: North America

This was mine and my husbands first cruise, also our honeymoon. Unlike many reviews I've read, the staff was very catering and very helpful if we ever needed anything. The food was good, I'm a picky eater and they always had something on the dinner menu I would eat. I LOVED Diane ford in the comedy club, she was amazing. All in all, a great trip. Nothing I would have changed!

Caribbean Cruise by dcsudler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: North America

Only our second time on Carnival and it exceeded my expectations. Plenty choices of where to eat so lines weren't too long. Enjoyed playing bingo and trivia. The ship had activities for all our interest and quiet places if we wanted to read.

Carnival cutting costs and quality by yeti38

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: North America

Carnival should take a look at revamping the employee compensation package as the employees seemed disgruntled and overworked. The employees also seemed to be asking for tips in passive aggressive ways, this was disconcerting and lowered the onboard experience. There was other evidence of cost cutting in the cleanliness of the ship as well as worn chairs and stained furniture and bedding. The overall food quality also suffered. Over the last ten years there a continued dramatic reduction in quality that will lead us to look elsewhere for our cruise needs.

Worst RC cruise we've ever been on by cruiserjoan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: North America

I'm hardly certain where to start...with the food, I guess, which is usually a highlight of a cruise experience. It was terrible--at the breakfast/lunch buffets, the nightly dinner seatings, and the specialty restaurant we went to (Giovanni's)--both in regard to the offerings and the quality. And the portion size--the tortellini main course consisted of FOUR tortellini. There was no steak offering unless you wanted to pay a significant upgrade fee (more than a whole steak dinner at a regular restaurant). Water refills were infrequent and at no point was I offered a glass of wine with dinner--I had to hunt down the wine steward each night to request one.

There was at least one less public restaurant on board this ship than on the other four we've been on, so breakfast/lunch was a madhouse--if you could find anything edible. Even the french fries were consistently horrifically inedible. The only food option after 9pm was room service, which consistently took 1.5 hours to arrive and was nearly inedible.

I discussed the food situation with other guests and with the staff, and they all agreed. One staff member told me to never take an RC cruise out of Miami because they're the worst ones...but that's where they're headquartered, which seems odd.

Service in general was spread thin--across the restaurants, staterooms, and other areas--and nothing like we have had before.

The stateroom itself was dirty when we got there (lip prints on the mirror) and stayed that way. The beds were uncomfortable. The balcony was even smaller than usual and barely the depth of a chair.

The entertainment was okay-ish, other than the ice show, which was VERY well done and definitely of the quality I expect on a spendy cruise.

If this were my only RC cruise I would likely never cruise with them again. As it is...I've invested quite a bit to get to Platinum status and am not really sure where to go now.

Excellent cruise, fantastic staff, things for everyone to do by Iatros

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Allure of the Seas / Destination: North America

The shows were terrific, the food was fantastic, and the service at the restaurant was superb. Stephanie and her team (dining room) were a highlight. Sadly we discovered late that there were special programs for teens. Yet we had a wonderful time.

We had a great time! by LisaGK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

There is so much to do on this boat.  The kids (high school & college kids) loved the Flowrider.  The service is also really good, both in the dining room and cabin.
