Norwegian Bliss - Mexican Riviera Cruise 10/27/18; Beautiful modern ship, excellent food, courteous & friendly staff, great amenities...overall an excellent experience! by lauraluvcruisn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Beautiful modern ship, excellent food, courteous & friendly staff, great amenities...overall an excellent experience! Lots of activities such as the water slides, go carts, laser tag, etc. Not understanding why there were so many complaints about crowding on this ship and lack of elevators. Maybe the complaints were geared more towards the Alaska cruise where, due to the cold weather, everyone was inside the ship, making it more crowded everywhere. On my Mexican Riviera cruise, the elevators were never crowded and there was always something to do or somewhere to hang out. One suggestion about booking restaurants and shows is, if you are able to book everything online, great. But NCL only releases 1/3 of the reservations online, then doesn't allow additional online bookings after that. So, I would opt for the earliest boarding time, and as soon as you get on the ship, go to deck 6 to book your restaurants and shows before they fill up. You can also use any of the electronic kiosks on the walls found throughout the ship - super handy.

Wonderful 1st Cruise Experience by priscilla101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

For our first cruise we didn't have high expectations, but after going on this Carnival cruise we'll definitely be going on a cruise again. There is so much to do on board the ship. The shows were impressively good. I highly recommend the DIVA show. Our cruise director Mat also had his own comedy show, and that's definitely worth going to as well. All the entertainment staff were wonderful. High praise to Leo aka the Governor. He hosted bingo, Diva, the De. Seuss breakfast, and so much more. If there was something going on he was there and he made it a fun and enjoyable experience. The food was also great. The only complaint my group had was the buffet hours weren't always accurate. They would say dinner was until 9:30pm but would be closing at 8:00. In the end it didn't matter because the table service at the Pride Dining Room was far superior to the buffet. Our 7 year old daughter was always entertained as well. There's lots of events dedicated to kids and families and she enjoyed the Kids Club any time we wanted to see an adult show without her. Ensenada Mexico wasn't great. The level of smog and pollution would make you think it was a really foggy day. None of the excursions really appealed to families either. We just decided the safest route would be to stay on the ship. It gave us time to relax in the hot tub and pool. Overall, I would definitely recommend Carnival Cruise Line. It was a great mini vacation.

Restfull and interesting cruise though destinations were changed due to typhoon by cesaralarca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

Though change of ports of call was expected due to typhoon, it was indeed good that safety was paramount, and briefings were constantly given. This cruise made me feel important and great. Thank you, Eurodam. See you, again.

Even though we did not make our ports because of the hurricane, the cruise over all was a great first experience. by lolitacrespo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

We enjoyed the sailing experience, the food and the amenities but the trip overall was a trip to no where...the hardest experience was when we were eating...For the first two days everywhere you turned, frequent cruisers were complaining about the alternate port route and the small credit given to us for our inconvenience. We didn’t the difference because it was our first cruise...it is important to pay attention especially when it cost $$$ on this beautiful ship...

Hurricane Diversio by RedStitch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

Because of Hurricane Willa, we went north instead of to Mexico. Overnight in San Francisco, a couple of hours in the L.A. port, a couple of hours to Catalina by tender, and then a couple hours to Ensenada. Disappointing.

very disappointed with the cruise by roxstar408

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

Was very disappointed that there was no notice that the itinerary had changed. We were expected to leave the country only to find out that we were going to port within the same state. It would have been nice to have received notification of the changes and an opportunity to cancel the trip. The ports that were chosen were no where near what we had originally expected. Will not use Holland America again.

Disappointing Itinerary by mbeck1515

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Ship was supposed to go to Mexican Rivera. Due to a Hurricane, we were diverted to San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada. Needless to say, we were not dressed for the cold weather in San Francisco. We should have been given the option to take the cruise while in port. We are certain they knew that they were not going and decided to inform us an hour out of the harbor. I guess profits vs a loss of profits that dictated what they did. Management is not willing to work with any of our 18 passengers. The ship is new and nice. Had some issues with cleanliness of the cabin upon arriving and the lack of personality of one of the dining room waitresses. Other than that, the food was good, shows were excellent and plenty to do on board. Many of us never got off the ship, as a number of people lived in San Francisco and San Diego in the past and had no desire to revisit them.

Overall review by teresayau139

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Overall is good for our first cruise, except the detouring part which is very, very disappointing, because we spent big money and want to see Mexico. It is difficult for us to take 3 week vacation. This could be a trip of our lifetime. We truly believe the cruise line should compensate the difference in price. It definitely not costing the same to San Francisco than to Mexico. It is not fair!!!

Great 1st Cruise by tacha22001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

This was our 1st cruise ever. I was expecting the food to be a lot better. Service was great! Looking forward to my next cruise in 2020 to Alaska! I have learned to let the cruise line book my flight so maybe next cruise there wont be issues with embarkation and disembarkation and transfers!

Awesome! by ljaneej

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

We enjoyed every minute. The crew is so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed MarQ's humor, DJ Self had the party jumping with hit after hit, Ali kept the drinks coming (his "specialty drink" is awesome) and Hari kept the room nice and clean. Thanks for making this an unforgettable vacation!
