Dining and entertainment are over good.  Staffs are friendly.

Captain Michele Tuvo is very friendly, informative, communicated well, highly visible to greet passengers.  We like his ending sentence NEVER-THE-LESS BYE BYE.

Great Short Getaway by senseijason

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

The food was exceptional. The service was extraordinary. In all, we truly had a great time. Everything was easily accessible and we really had no troubles with anything on board this cruise. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a first cruise - this was mine and now I'm hooked!

This was my first cruise and I really enjoyed it. The crew was amazing and it was plenty of activities and places to go throughout my time spent on the ship. The food was great and my family had a wonderful time. I will be rebooking a trip in the near future.

Rough Seas by jasnik

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

Before our cruise I tried to find information if the cruise would be windy, its an open boat moving on the water so I assumed it would be. It is super windy & super cold. Catalina was nice, nice shopping, clean & nice restaurants. Ensenada was awful! We were only off the boat for 2 hours, its a dirty dirty town. The ship was fine, but the seas were really rough & so you felt the waves all the time. lots of sea sick passengers.

Great Time! by Wens720

Would recommend to others for a quick get away. Good balance between family time, kids time and adult time! There was plenty of activities as a family. The kids were able to participate in their own activities while the adults get to relax and enjoy our own evening!

7 Day Mexican Riviera by longsranch

Great cruise. Dinner at Cagneys however was very poor. Seating service and food service was extremely slow, and food was mediocre.  Our cabin attendant, Dennis, was outstanding!!

First Time and Last Time by agiszekacs550

We decided to go on a cruise for our 21st wedding anniversary. It was our first time. We had our two teen aged sons with us.  The service was very good. Food was excellent. But programs for teenagers were not interesting. My kids were bored a lot. The gym was my favorite place to be. Equipment there was modern but not well kept. Mini golfing was really fun. It's on the top deck. Incredible winds added some extra challenge and more fun. Dining was special each night. Waiters were fun. Food preparation elegant and the experience classy.  Room service was good too. Although the room was not that clean when we arrived on the first day. I was wishing that I had taken some bleach wipes with us.   All in all a good experience but next time we will chose a different type of vacation.

Friendliness of Staff and Crew.

The people at the Embarkation in the Dome along the stairs to the lower deck were more than unpleasant to all. I know they had a job to do, but they could have been more patient.

Yes I would recommend this cruise and cruise line to friends and others.

If I didn't have to rate it I would be happier. by 1gr8life

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Mexico

Never got food together for my allergies for 4 days.  Did not eat but a salad for 2 days and did not eat for the other two other than MY bread and other things I brought on. If it was in the package , then they couldn't figure out how to change it.

Bed kept coming apart. Took 4 days to finally get it together and to stay.I went between the bed twice. Hurting my neck and shoulder area, causing a migrane which I was in bed for two days due to the problem with the beds. Had to spend over 300.00 to get a massage to work out the problem the separation of the beds caused.

Other than 4 people on the cruise , NO ONE had accountablity for getting things done They lost the ice packs I brought on for medical and food needed off the ship. Room service blamed it on the room attendant who had told us HE was NOT allowed to take them. CALL ROOM SERVICE and they said THEY didn't take them. Finally they found them TWO HOURS AFTER we wanted to get off the ship. Then on SATURDAY WHILE AT SEA... I get a phone call at 7:15 "Mame do you need your ice packs?"  Really, where am I going I am at SEA!!

Hubby went down to get a piece of MY bread toasted because I had not eaten in two days, due to the bed deparation causing a migrane and nausea. IT TOOK ALMOST 45 minutes to get MY BREAD. The maitre d IGNORED my hubby when he tried to find out where it was, and then brought it down WITHOUT TOASTING IT.  IT TOOK ANOTHER 15 minutes!!  By then it was not wanted and cold.

Cannot get water with drink packaages. Only this HORRIBLE cruise line does this. Better cruise lines like Royal, Celebrity GIVE YOU WATER as well so you don't have tons of drunken stupid people on board. You can only get alcohol and soda.  As a vegan who is allergic to GLUTEN ,DAIRY and so many other things I GOT NOTHING TO DRINK unless I PAID FOR IT.  WATER is 2 for 7.95 and they are SMALL!

$7.95 for room service?  Unbelieveable.

Never had lobster, shrimp or any other specialty type of food offered on the menu. Low class ship, worse food ever, and my husband willl eat anything and he said the buffet was low quality and the restaurants were low quality or MEDIOCRE at best.

I have been on 11 cruises this by far was the WORST EVER!!  EVEN COMPARED TO THE THREE DAY CARNIVAL CRUISE TO ENSENADA! I will make sure EVERYONE i know knows about the Norweigian Jewel and how they don't give a CRAP about any customer service. NEVER AGAIN!!!  NO OTHER SHIP goes into MAZATLAN!! IT IS A STEP DOWN from TIJUANA AND ENSENADA!!! .Horrible port ( goes with the horrible cruise) and  you spend THE MOST TIME IN MAZATLAN!!!

Get rid of the port and spend more time in Cabo....

There is so much MORE that was TERRIBLE/ HRRIBLE CUSTMER SERVICE,  that it would take me a month to write all about it. I did... to the Cruise line itself.  THEY DO NOT CARE! Never got a response!

Mar 26, 2017 | 4 Night Catalina & Baja Mexico by pmzirkle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

Pros: Most Staff was very friendly and courteous.

Suite was always kept clean and tidy.

Dining room menu was very good.

The comedy and singing/dancing shows were very good.

The entertainment director was the best we have ever had!

Cons:

When going through the line to get checked in a Cruise staff

member asked if we had a VIP card or Priority boarding card.

I replied no we just have printed boarding passes. My daughter

looked at the pass and priority was printed on it. I showed it to the

Staff member and he rudely said " That is what I asked for! You

need to get in this line".            Not a good start!

The buffet food was not very good. Poor selections, very little

seafood (Tilapia?). Most of the entrees had

very little flavor. Frozen yogurt machine always out of product.

Dining room servers had a hard time keeping up with customer

requests (Looked like too many tables assigned to too few servers.

While docked in Ensenada the captain announces over the room

speaker "This is the Captain, All hands abandon ship". We jump up

and look out the balcony and see no one rushing off the ship on the

dock below. That was very unsettling.

We tried to order room service two nights in a row and the phone just

rang and rang with no answer.

We asked the room staff to fix our TV as the movie channel did not

work.  It was never fixed. We did double check that is was not a

whole ship issue, our neighbors worked fine as well as the TV's in

            gym.

We have stayed in suites on several other cruise ships and have

always had much better service and treatment. We came to the

conclusion that the comedian was not joking when he said this was

           "A Section 8 Cruise"

The "Black" jokes were not appreciated as we go on vacation to relax

with everyone around us no matter the race.

Did not appreciate the comedian ending his show appealing to guests

to buy his DVD and tip him to help support his special needs child. Not

that we do not support charities, it just does not seem like the right

           venue to bring this out.

This is the second time we have done this Carnival cruise.

Will not take this Carnival cruise again on this ship.

Port excursions by cruisetime420

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

I traveled with a group of 14. 8 of us purchased the dolphin excursion through cruise.com.  It cost 155.00 each. It was supposed to include time with the dolphins and ayca buffett and open bar. And it was suppose to be right there in cabo. When we got there we were informed we were booked at the other dolphin place which was 30 minuets away. We waited for over 2 hours to be picked up. When we finally arrived we were told we wouldn't be able to do it. After 30 minutes they said they would squeeze us in. Then they rushed us through. Needless to say no buffett or open bar. We paid extra for that. When we asked for some of our money back they said no. I feel we got totally ripped off. Very disappointed

MOTEL 6 ON WATER by suzee102

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

YOU START OFF IN A LINE AND END IN A LINE. FOR THE LACK OF AMENITIES AND THINGS TO DO WHILE YOUR ON THE CRUISE THEY SHOULD MAKE MORE LINES. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS JUST OKAY AND THE FOOD WAS NOT AS GOOD AS IT USED TO BE. I REMEMBER BEING WINED AND DINED BY THE STAFF BUT NOT THIS TIME. THE ROOMS ARE STANDARD AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT.

It had it's ups and downs.. by rachelbbeauty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

Loud banging noise above our cabin for two nights in a row. It was terrible. Loud drunk spring break kids being annoying and bothering us directly across from us. Incessently hollered at by street vendors the entire time we were in Ensenada. Cruise ship was nice and there were some fun things to do, but I wouldn't go on this cruise again.

Great getaway although ports not far away. by JstCrusing4Fun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

Best service on any of the cruises we've taken.  Our stateroom steward Pameuoi was extremely friendly and helpful.  Give him a raise!  :)    This isn't the first cruise we've taken and so I found myself comparing this trip with other experiences.

First of all we were a little disappointed with the food.  We absolutely loved the appetizers in the anytime dining room.  But the entrees were nothing fancy.  It's almost funny because of all the things we ate on the ship, we can only really remember the appetizers!  Some of the other food offerings we really liked were the taco/burrito shop as well as Guy Fieri's burger shop.  Our complaint with those shops were that they were NOT open late enough.

Although it was a vacation, we were exhausted by the evenings.  We were a little disappointed that there weren't more movies available to watch either in the theater or on the TV in our stateroom.  As I recall the movie in the theater didn't begin until very late.  There were 2 movie channels on the TV in our stateroom but for some reason it was just one movie that would loop all day long.  Normally it wouldn't have been an issue but we weren't able to spend as much time outside because a few of the evenings it was a little bit chilly.

The fitness center was great!  It was bigger than I thought it was going to be.  Thought it a little odd that it didn't open until 6AM.  There were a few mornings I used the outdoor track until the fitness center opened.

Didn't know there was a Carnival cruise shuttle going to LAX.   We would have used that going back to the airport but we had already made reservations with a different shuttle company.  Guess we were one of the first people off the ship.  Ended up waiting over an hour for our shuttle to take us back to the airport.  Live and learn.

4 nt cruise to ensenda by serenapool81

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

This was a good cruise to trial our kids on to see if they liked cruising because it was short.  My biggest complaint is the cruise director Dee coming in the loud speaker first thing in the morning with announcements! Im on vacation and don't want to be woken up at 730 am to hear this is DEE your cruise director. ....etc on the last full day all the staff had a safety drill and every staff was running around with life jackets on and things were shut down during this drill like the coffee shop which WAS MOST FRUSTRATING! We were very annoyed with the staff running around it was a huge disturbance, the beeping on the speakers was completely disturbing and it had my kids worried that things were going wrong with the boat.

The dining room first night was so excellent with the service the staff knew our names and treated us like royalty, the very next night we waited over 3 HOURS to eat! Took over an hour to get seated with a buzzer and the other 2 hours waiting for our food! We wasted our while evening and missed the show at 8 that the kids wanted to go see, it was very upsetting! After that we went to buffet the rest of the time. Some of the bar staff arnt friendly at all, they look over worked and super slow at serving drinks. The coffee baristas are extremly slow and it's not always open which was frustrating to walk all the way there to find it closed.

At the starting line up to get on the cruise a man kept yelling "everyone pack close together the line up is very large outside " well personal space buddy! No one wants to be smudged together like a can of sardines! Regardless if the line is big outside or inside people are waiting so let them wait in comfort!

Other than that our room attendant Mark was excellent! Bartender Greg in the Lido was very friendly!

We were given 2 rooms that had 2 port windows that we didn't pay for, I thought plain state rooms didn't have windows so that was very nice to have! The burgers on the deck were AMAZING!!! best burger and fries EVER!! turkey wrap at the deli station was also amazing!  Would have been nice to have a sangria on the cruise they didn't have any. One bartender was kind enough to make me one with the ingredients I asked for so thank you for that!

Bt the comedian was SO funny!

The main entertainer/singer on the last show, can't remember his name he was amazing also!  He went out of his way to help my daughter get into the wifi and have it running on her phone thank you so much for that!

2.5 stars. Good for first-time cruisers, not for those who have cruised before by vxvny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Mexico

Pros: departing out of San Pedro was incredibly easy; ship was nice but older; easy to navigate the ship's decks.  Better ports than in Eastern Mexico; great experiences on excursions.

Cons: service was mediocre compared to past NCL cruises and other lines; we found the staff to be forgetful or didn't want to be bothered; food overall was unimpressive, often bland or not warm.
