The trip was great and Esteven is an amazing dancer and a great talent on the boat.  The Chef Table was great very talented chefs and excellent food. Dinner table was a little tight for 11 people should of been 8 but still nice.

Nice getaway for families by 6grovers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

We loved the two stops-- Catalina Island and Ensenada. Our stateroom attendant and watiers were great, as was the entertainment. My only complaint was the lack of variety of food on the ship throughout the day. The buffets seemed to always be closed, leaving only the options of pizza and ice cream; I would have liked a salad bar open 24-7, or at least noon to midnight.

Carnival is still good, but not as good as it used to be by Dmonte

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

The cabin stewards and restaurant wait staff were not very friendly.  The cabin steward always looked mad.  We had a few friendly waiters, but for the most part, they were not very friendly.  This is the first time we've experienced this and it was disappointing.  Other staff around the ship were very good.

First time cruising with children. by klpreece

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

We were cruising with 3 ten year old boys.  My husband and I have been on quite a few cruises but this was our first with children.  I felt like the entertainment was lacking.  On other cruises there were all different types of entertainment from ventriloquists to acrobatics and magic shows. Shows that were great for adults and children.  The dancing and singing is maybe ok for adults that know the music and can sing along but the boys were bored stiff after the opening first show.  The only movie that we saw offered was during our dinner time so we missed that.   We did love the PG comedy show and ended up seeing it both times because there was nothing else. We also felt like the shows were quit late for children.   I signed them up for the kids club before cruising but they said it was juvenile and geared to younger kids.

Fun! by AFam

We went as a family of 4. We had so much fun! The only part we didn't like was Ensenada. Not much to see and just boring. Catalina Island was so much fun. So much to do on the ship. They do know how to entertain you! Overall, we had a blast! Even the kids did:)

This was our first cruise and it was our 25th anniversary so we splurged a little on our selves. Over all we had a great time did a lot of excursions, had an awesome room steward named Joanna who was very friendly and helpful with all our questions, being our first ever cruise we had a bunch. The staff was friendly and pleasant, the food was terrific.

Fun, Food, and Fiesta by duarted73524612

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

The cruise was amazing.  We had so much fun, it didn't matter what part of the ship we were on.  The food was an edible extravaganza regardless of the time of day.  It was a fiesta on board and on land.  Carnival Miracle made the entire cruise effortless from beginning to end.  We are ready to cruise again and again.

Disappointed by hmitchell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

I was extremely disappointed with our experience.  There was very little for our children to do on the cruise, but it was 'pitched' to us as a Family Cruise.  My biggest complaint was with our dining experience.  We selected 'anytime' dining, but on most nights waited approx. 45 min to even be sat... Then, our meal took 2 + hours each night; causing us to miss shows that were scheduled.  One night we never got our drink order taken.  Another night, we got our drink order, but the food came before my kids received their beverage.  Every night at least 2 people from our group were served cold or over cooked food and every night my kids ice cream came so melted that they used their straws to drink the ice cream.  I am so upset that I wasted my hard earned money on this trip for my kids and now can't even afford to make it up to them by going to Disney like we had originally planned.

Amazing Crew! by smiehlke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

Really enjoyed the cruise! The food and crew are what really made this an amazing experience. The boat is a old and starting to show, especially when things start to break during the cruise. Ports were good, and decent amount of games, activities, bars, etc to do on the boat.

Disorganized, and no costumer service! by tinadonair

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

The mandatory safety briefing was 1 1/2 hours long as we were all asked to STAND in the hot sun while they kept counting and counting. Then they kept announcing that the briefing would start momentarily and not to move!!!! Then after all this time, a bell went off and we were all told that we are dismissed! We were never even told what lifeboats we were to use in an emergency. WE NEVER GOT THE BRIEFING!!!!!!!It was so ridiculous. It was a terrible was to start a vacation and after cruising 3 times prior with Carnival, I had never had this happen. I was so embarrassed!!!!

Less than impressive .... do not bring kids by cobin66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

First, the kids activities were definitely oversold to us when booking.  We were traveling with 7 kids in tow between the families that went.  The kids center was only "open" from 7pm-10pm in the evening, where they played movies for them.  Understandably, after 10pm they charge no big deal.  However, when dinner takes upwards of THREE hours because the service was SO SLOW you miss all the shows.  There was ONE family game night show that was kid appropriate and they had fun.  The other shows were definitely geared towards adults, my kids sat through them reluctantly but there wasn't much options for them.  I was disappointed to say the least in the entire experience.  The weather (which isn't their fault) was cold, they did not try to rearrange any activities to keep anyone, kids included, entertained while out at sea.  The food was TERRIBLE, any free hotel continental breakfast could compete with any of their meals including dinner.  We had to wait upwards of an hour to be seated for dinner each night, then took over 2 hours to get through dinner.  The staff was not nearly as friendly as any other cruise we have taken, including this same one in 2016.  Our dinner staff was rude, with the exception of our first night (where we waited an hour and a half to eat) but the food seemed to be all the leftovers ... we were onboard celebrating a birthday and two anniversaries where they didn't even acknowledge the birthday.  Friends of ours received things in their room with their anniversary etc, we did not.  I still have to go through our bill which we were overcharged for drinks etc as we paid for the drink package, but we were charged for drinks.  No, we did not go over our allowed amount in drinks either.  Nor did I sign for any charges where they were incorrect.  Overall, a one star is about where the entire thing fell.  We will NOT be returning to this cruise line, or probably cruise with Carnival again.  We specifically asked if they made any upgrades to the boat since our last cruise last year as it was completely outdated, lots of gold and old upholstery.  They told us at booking this boat was "completely remodeled at the end of 2016" and it looked exactly the same as the year prior with the exception of the Egyptian boob statues down the hallway were removed.  Disappointing.

Awesome entertainment, helpful people, but the food was a joke! by savunie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

My favorite part of the cruise was the entertainment. The cast of performers are so talented. The comedians were hilarious.  I enjoyed the cruise director very much. He was very entertaining and enthusiastic. I also enjoyed the destinations and the excursions we chose. We did the kayaking to the blowhole in Ensenada, which I highly recommend!!! So far,  you'd think my review score would be higher than a three. I wish I could rate it higher, but the quality of the food brings my rating down. Most of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner tasted like cafeteria food at a senior citizen care center. Honestly. The desserts were so disappointing as well. The lava chocolate cake was the only decent one. They offered "premium" menu options for dinner like lobster and filet minion for an extra $20 per plate...hmm, I expect that to be included in the cost of the cruise. I can say that because of the food, we will not be booking carnival again.

We had a great time by mushu116

I think the entertainment was the best! The cruise director, the comedian, and the shows at night are great! The food the first night wasn't great but definitely got better! The Melting Chocolate cake was delicious. Catalina Island was fun and I'd recommend taking kayaks to the blow hole in Ensenada.

The hardworking employees made the cruise even better! by ramalia70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

Wow. This was our first cruise and it was absolutely incredible. There are so many fun things to do onboard throughout the day we never felt bored. The rooms were fine I thought they were going to be smaller but it was doable. The cleaning crew made a cute towel animal each time they cleaned the room and left it really nice and tidy. The entire staff remebers your name and treats you with the best customer service. Our dining crew was Enrique, Abbey and Bernadette and they were so amazing and incredibly nice. When we weren't at dinner they would still say hi and smile when we would see eachother around the ship. Mate the magician was so charismatic and amazing. My daughters fell in love with him! Glenford the bar waiter was impeccable and so considerate. 2 Notes the band was awesome! They definitely need a bigger dance crowd they are totally worth listening. Liverpool band at the Red Frog cafe was really good too, request a Spanish song and they'll play it!

We did the canopy adventure in Mazatlan which was totally worth it especially with the free tequila shots at the end! We also went to Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta which was worth every penny. The food was amazing, the beach was stunning and all the water activities were fantastic. It was paradise.

Overall the ship was super clean and big to explore around. The only cons I have is that the massages were way overpriced. I paid $200 for a bamboo massage and I don't think it was worth it. The pool was also tiny. But this doesn't take away from my family's fantastic experience on the cruise. Watch the shows, go to the comedy shows, get to know your waiters, listen to the bands, look for Mate the magician at dinner time he's so fun and cute, and give the staff a big tip because they all deserve it!

Ladies birthday cruise by hallr5

It was a great cruise for the money.  Loved the tacos and burger stations.  The dinner buffet could have been better.  Some of the food was cold.  Had a lot of fun hanging out by the pool.

Lucky with great weather...unhappy with dining time...great rock show by oldmovies4me

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

Good:  food ok, $20 upcharge for filet a shame but entres not good so worth the $20. Excellent filet.

Guy Fieries burgers almost as good as filet. Not kidding.  Had it to do over I'd have eaten burgers all 4 dinners by the pool.  Really work hard to accommodate gluten free. Sandwiches and pizza....very nice options.  Updated decor, and not much of the stinky cruise ship smell that's become prominent. Easy ship layout.  Room service nice in the am for coffee and fruit. Rock and roll show last night was awesome!  Wish they'd repeat it....Id have seen it twice!  That good!  Yoga was also good.  Nothing too crazy. Just a bunch of sun salutations. Good price at $14 w auto tip.

Bad:  I keep getting stuck w late dining times even tho I book well ahead. Finally on third night we got in at 6, and it was only 2 of us. Matre'd was nice but ignored our name on list until we got a little pushy 3rd nite. Hated to do that. One night comedy good.  Rest was xrated so we  didnt go. We're from Vegas and just don't avoid that stuff.   Few shows so disappointing in that arena. Very obvious fewer staff on board. Tables don't get bussed quickly though everyone is nice. Steward are great.  Rest are kind of robotic. I would be too I guess with all the sheeple and no time off for 6 months.  Its a hard life.   Ensenada is a craphole but we knew that ahead.  Prefer 2 days in Catalina but there's that international rule.  I think our next trip will be 3 nights in Catalina and skip the cruise.

The buffets are a mass of humanity with women griping at kids in multiple languages flicking long unwashed hair in your plate.
