Hawaii Cruise Reviews

I loved the free style cruising. We knew this would be a different type of cruise than to the Carribean for example. We were on tours all day and knew we would be exhausted when we got back to the ship - free style meant we did not have to get dressed for dinner which suited us fine and utilized the aloha cafe most evenings. The selection there was great and varied so we were very happy. Salad bar was excellent, soups were really good too and we had prime rib and asian and italian - could not think of a reason we wanted to do the dining room. Comedian show was hysterical.

Beautiful and clean. Fun to learn our way around. Help was always available.

The ship was old. The amenities seemed tired. THe ports that we dock into in Hawaii were very industrial. Not built up like many ports in the Caribbean. Probably not the ships fault as they don't have enough ships too warrant the expansion - but the ship seemed comparable to a 3 or 4 day ship going from Miami to the bahamas.

we enjoyed the cruise. The ship was clean, but the rooms were small. the personnel were very nice and friendly. The excursions were great.

I wrote a very lengthy review that I was unable to save because it was timed out. More time is need to properly document all of the positive and negative issues of this cruise ship and the staff.

ship was fine. wait staff started out strong but by half way through the 14 day cruise were slow to respond to requests and meal took over 30 min longer than previous meals to be served. steaks (eaten almost every night) was generally full of grissle. cabin steward only replaced towels and pulled up and down bed. shore excursions very pricey and do not feel like got moneys worth on any of them. unable to book shore excursion through travel agent due to princess monopoly. overall disappointing cruise. will most likely not cruise princess again. definately not a luxury line or even "upscale" cruise line!

Since this was our first Carnival cruise, we decided to go with a good attitude and have fun. Boarding in Honolulu was easy enough, but upon boarding, we were slightly amused and disarmed by the garish Las Vegas lights and style. The rooms were pretty standard as to the other ships we have been on, and the stewards were friendly enough and made sure to keep everything in good shape without bothering us. The wait staff in the dining room and bar waiters on the fantail were some of the best that we have seen. I can not say the same about the others. In the lido, I would swear that no one ever told the waiters to clean the tables, or refill your drinks like on other cruise lines. Overall, we had a good time, but will not travel with Carnival again. I guess I am too spoiled by the understated elegance and service from the "other" guys

It was my first time traveling with Princess cruise and I loved the ship and the attention you get from most employees. The attractions were not all good and did not help people to get acquainted with each other. There should be buffet areas with particular foods for different tastes. One buffet area with Italian food, other with Mexican food, Asian food, besides the daily buffet you had.

Very clean, as usual with princesss excellent staff. Extremely enjoyed the Ultimate Cruise Tour.

most of the equiptment in the gym was broke and no one really cared because they were going to get new equiptment( doesnt do me much good, the12 days i was on board. talked with the head of the dept and she didnt much care that i was upset.... the trip to ensenada, to get the ship was a total disaster and NO ONE knew what they were doing!!!!!!!!! we didnt get to the port till 9:30 pm and was tired and hungry. BUT they did give us a bottle of water when we boarded(after sitting at tthe pier for 3 1/2 hrs(none of the vending machines worked so no food) they know everyone was mad but just said "sorry!!"( and that was day 1 of our cruise!! NO one of importance cared. in our last port, oahu, we spent the night. we never got any information on what was available on the pier, where to go or shop.... (only if you booked a tour through carnival..) it was like we werent there anymore. if ii had never sailed on canival before( i am platnium) i would never go on carnival again. it was so bad they never gave us comment cards. guess they didnt want to know what we thought!! :)

Beautiful ship. Easy to get around in. We were fully loaded but did not have to wait in line very long for anything.

ship clean laid out well Trip from san diego to ensanada was horrible. that is where we boarded the ship did not get there till 9:30 pm

The ship is very nice and we loved the balcony in our state room. The food was good but nothing out of the norm. We booked all of are excusions thru carnival and was disaponited. Carnival canacled one excusion and one other was a helacopter ride that was cancled due to the weather. This made for a two day due nothing period.
