Overall it was a good cruise. I did not like the lack of use of the sanitizer in the buffet area. Only one of ten people used it.

Great cruise!!! by LizC2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ports of calls at the Carnival Magicship were great. All the beautiful places we visited in Europe were amazing. Starting in Livorno-Florence, Rome, Naples, Sicily, Palma de Majorca and Marseille. We booked our excursions with Carnival and all the places were great, except for I wish they had more excursion to go the beaches. But overall they were great!!!

We had a great cruise and really enjoyed the ship. We were very disappointed in the rudeness of the majority of the passengers.

Wonderful Cruise by MayD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Just got back from the Carnival magic and it was an experience of a lifetime. The ship is very large, but easy to navigate. We had a cove balcony and it was wonderful. Very spacious, clean and the balcony had a lot of privacy. The balcony was so close to the water it felt like you could reach out and touch it. The food on the ship was pretty good but if you have time try the steakhouse it is exceptional. The ports of call were awesome, places I will never forget. Only con is needed more shows. Overall was wonderful and we will definitely do it again!

The ship is very good and our state room was very well laid out. Having a bath tup and shower that you can move in is a huge plus.

A great cruise spoiled by NCL by RodP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

A very nice cruise liner that is well laid out - plenty of amenities for adults, teenagers and young children. The pool area on the deck 15 can get very noisy as there is a 'live' band that plays every afternoon from 13.00 to 17.00 and that can wear you down. There are quiet areas on deck 18 but they are not serviced very well by bar attendants and for example, if you want to get an ice-cream you have to get back down to deck 15 - by the time you get back up to the quiet area your ice-cream has melted! There is an adult only area at the aft of the ship, which has 2 jacuzzis and a pool, and a massive cinema screen. It is well serviced by bar attendants but the food is additional cost. The trips are very expensive eg the trip to Rome was $299pp plus tax. You can do these trips on your own using the local transportation, but NCL seem to have a policy of really pointing out the dangers of the local transport always being late etc - I think this is to scare people so that they take the vastly over-priced excursions. I have mention 'plus tax' alot - this is because prices are just stated - you only find out about the tax when you are billed and at 18% it soon amounts. In addition, there is an additional $12 per day, per person service charge added to your bill (this is for passengers aged 3 and up!). The service charge is supposedly distributed to all staff at the end of the cruise - how this works I am not sure. In addition to the service charge there is tax, and on each transaction - eg bar service there is an additional gratuity of 10% added to your bill. There is then an additional line for you to add your own tip which goes directly to the server. You even get asked for this if you are actually sitting at the bar! One really big negative was our final bill - this was checked before we went to bed on our final night - all okay. I then received a paper copy final bill at 07.45, 1 hour before we were disembarking which had an additioanl $147 added for 'Housekeeping Merchandise'?? Guest Services had a queue of around 50 people and whilst waiting in the line, it became apparent that around 15 of us all had this additional charge. (The charge was towels that were handed out on day one before we could get into our stateroom.) Every person with this addition had returned the towels and the attendant tore-up the reciept - however the initial signed sheet for the deposit was not destroyed and it is charged on your bill, not on the day it occured, but at the end of your last night. I am afraid to say that many people will have disembarked not realising that this charge had been added. Also, nobody would tell me who the person in charge of this facility was so that I could discuss directly. Overall, we had a good cruise but although it started out as a very good price in comparison with the same itinary on Royal Carribean Legend of the Seas, you actually pay the difference once you are on the ship.

Amazing experience! by Walker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship is the largest in the MSC fleet. It was gorgeous and the cabin was larger than many of the American cruiselines I've traveled on. I love the Italian cruiselines because we (Americans and English speakers) are the minority and its great to be imursed in the different Italian, French, and Spanish cultures and languages. MSC was just as fabulous as Costa (which I traveled on last year to the Greek Isles out of Venice).

First cruise with wife and won't be last. everything was great! service, restaurants, shops. Entertainment was top shelf. and no line, incl check in and check out, was more than a few minutes. Only small thing was astaffer was trying to set up a dive excursion for us in Mallorca and never got back to say that he could not set it up.

Great Cruise! by VanessaA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

A great experience! The food was really good, the service was even better. The boat was clean and beautiful. Many activities to choice from on the boat. The nightlife on the boat was OK (as far as dancing), but there were shows or movies to watch.

Regenerating Experience by KeithA2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I was leery of high deck, rear facing stateroom. Not any more. Couldn't have been better. Quiet and private. The nights were not long enough for us. We found that we hit the ports of call early and got back within 30 minutes of leaving. That left us exhausted. Short nap and up for dinner and entertainment (which was great) and had to force ourselves to bed to get 6 or 7 hours of sleep before breakfast and next port visit. Highly recommend you have what I call "pre-breakfast" delivered to cabin. Nice way to wake up. Experience the specialty restaurant(s) at least once. Worth it. BOOK EARLY on in the cruise. Cabin staff was ready to provide anything we asked and kept the room always ready for us.
