Disappointing by richdonna

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We were very disappointed in this cruise. Its is a brand new ship and we paid a ton of money for this trip. I found the other ships a better value. Everything is an upcharge, the menu in the dining room was awful. The drinks were terrible but the staff was excellent ! We had some of the nicest people for crew members that I think we have ever had. They also took away a lot of perks that we use to get and we don't get as many benefits for booking suites as we did in the past. I would research other cruise lines before booking with Royal Caribbean.

Good itinerary. Nice ship. Poor communications and information in arranging cruise and onboard. by Cruiser88015563

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Riviera / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Itinerary was good. Food was fair. Communication was poor. Only found out after beginning the cruise that we could dine in specialty restrauants without up charge. By then all of the reasonable dining times were taken. Destinations staff does not have maps and information of the next port until after the ship docks there. It makes it virtually impossible, for example, to try to plan a short morning visit into the port and get back for your afternoon excursion. Typically, at 10:00 AM, there is a frenzied crowd surrounding the Concierge/Destinations desk seeing the hand out maps just brought on board, Dozens of clients all trying to ask the single concierge handing the maps out, “how do I get to....” It was incomprehensible that a “first class cruise line” would not have the next day’s city Information available at least the evening before. State room was nice. The ship seemed well maintained and one did not feel as though there were 1000-1200 passengers on board.

Exceeded Expectations! by Maripossa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Seven Seas Explorer / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Exceeded our high expectations. Not a party ship but lots to do. The food was fabulous and the ship was incredible. Did some tours but also took time to visit some ports on our own, The free laundry service is a plus. When they say “all inclusive”they are pretty much correct as we left the ship with a bill of $63.00. WiFi is somewhat spotty and needs improvement.

Very Interesting by sisterwattitude

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I feel that the food selection in the "Ocean Cafe" was very good, but very repeated. The options was good, but need to have more options. The dinning area was "too slow"!! Also need to try harder to try and group your request. (table for 2 only) NOT LARGE TABLE

The staff and cruise director were very good. The ship and cabins were always clean. After a few days the food seemed to look the same. All the ports of call were good except we really didnt care for the Malta port. by loubru61

Great ship and itinerary - bad service by scotthorowitz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Service was so bad. The guest services desk even told us the staff wasn’t happy and over worked when we went to complain. Have cruised with Norwegian before and loved it. Expected more from them this trip and was really let down. Would not do such a big ship with them again since they clearly can’t handle it.

Not So Epic by Wilyenn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

If you are young it is a good idea not to choose this ship. This ship caters to the older folks. Food - Most of the complementary dining buffets close early. The one restaurant that is open 24/7 was awful. All of the complementary food was pretty poor quality. Also there is food available 24/7, but it is not completely complementary because they charge a convenience fee. If you want good food you will need to purchase the specialty dining package as this food was actually very good, but you will need a reservation because the time slots fill up quickly. Entertainment - Most of the good shows were reserved ahead of time so you didn't have many options if you don't enjoy making reservations. Very few interesting shows to choose from as they all looked rather dull. Stateroom - The one good thing about this cruise was that the person servicing our stateroom did a terrific job and was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, I will not be booking a cruise through Norwegian until I am a bit older.

First time Mediterranean by bbrum07

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Very fun cruise with plenty to do, but plan to stay busy and not get much sleep since the port days are long and the time at sea is minimal! Overall a great experience!

Great Ship, poor business by parisong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Loved the cruise & the ports, just absolutely disappointing with the way NCL does business. Everyhing has a charge, they nickle and dime you. They try to enforce the gratuities daily charges and when you fill out the opt out form, which should only be once, you get daily notes left to your cabin how you still owe them. I thought their staff was wonderful, and i tipped generously to those whom i received service from. I don't appreciate anyone telling me how much or what is to be expected.

The trip of a lifetime with friends!!! by Irishact

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We really enjoyed seeing Italy. There is much beauty & history to be seen there. We had a blast as we went with 4 other couples who we have been friends with for 35 & years & it was a great experience to share. The ship was okay, but we enjoyed cruising with Celebrity, Princess & Royal Caribbean who could teach Norwegian a few things especially about customer service.

Western Mediterranean Honeymoon Cruise by jjkulka

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

MSC does a great job of taking care of their guests. They get a bad rap in the US because of the cultural differences between European and US ways of doing things. They treat guests with sincerity and respect.
