Eclipse Crossing by JohnU1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This was my 1st transatlantic crossing on a cruise ship. The shipboard experience was very good but the weather was left wanting. Celebrity is an excellent cruise company and lived up to that billing on this cruise. Over all I enjoyed the experience and would do it again.

Nice Cruise..New Friends by CoMtnCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

First of all, we had a great time on this cruise. Plenty of things to do everyday and night. The Ports of Call were great. We took excursions at each one and were very pleased. We couldn't have asked for better dinner tablemates. Every evening was filled with lots of stories and laughs. We made new friends that we will definitely stay in touch with.

Splendid cruise by Oscar54752921

Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Good size cabin with a roomy shower for most cruise ships. Caring staff tailored to customer service. First class entertainment. Great ports of call for the adventurist type with plenty of fine shopping and dining without having to pay-out for expensive tours.

Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Royal Caribbean has beautiful cruise ships and the Independence was wonderful. Lots of activities for the kids and adventurous. Gorgeous lounges and public areas to spend time in. We had a great mini-suite with veranda and loved our balcony and room time.

It was a good cruise. WE got upgraded, which made the big difference. Without it, I am afraid the ship is very crowded on exterior decks...

Bad communication by CharleneS4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Viking River Sun / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The ship experience was lovely. Very intimate with less than 200 on board. Food was delicious and service was good, although some of the servers at lunch/dinner seemed to be cranky at times. Our cabin steward was wonderful--she kept our room spotless. The piano player in the lounge was exceptional. He took requests and played age appropriate songs for our group and showed us a good time each night. My main complaint is that we only got 2 days of cruising since the Rhine River was not navigable for most of our trip. No one from Viking communicated that to us or we might have made other plans. They did put us up in hotels but that's just not the same as being aboard the ship.

Great cruise Itinerary by MadlynD

Sail date: /
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We recently returned from a 15 day European tour on RCL's Vision of the Seas. The ship had been refurbished only 7 months ago and it was beautiful! Cruises Only offered an inexpensive suite upgrade, so we took advantage of the deal and were upgraded to a grand suite. All I can say is FABULOUS! We had a party for 17 people in our suite and everyone had a place to sit and enjoy a good time. The ports of call itinerary was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed each excursion. RCL was well organized which made the logistics of moving several hundred people through each port easy. Only negative comment concerns the food. The meats were tough and fish dishes appeared to be frozen fish stick quality.

Ship is wonderful the food exceptional but the service is somewhat below what I would expect from Cunard - earlier this year I went on NCL which (in my opinion) is far below Cunard but their service was better

Scottish/Irish Interlude by RitaL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ocean Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The ship was warm, comfy, inviting, wonderful home-away-from-home. The crew was terrific, and the ship's captain a perfect host. The only disappointment - and it was a HUGE one: The shore excursions were costly (in comparison to those experienced on other cruises) and allowed no time to actually see things other than through a bus window. Excursion director needs to work with excursion operators. Passengers only endure being herded like cattle for a reward - specifically, getting to see the sites of the world. A cruise is enjoyable in itself, but it is not the only reason for travel in most cases. Excursions play a huge role and the excursions associated with this cruise were more than disappointing - with the exception of Dartmouth.

More than met our expectations! by LarryL4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Overall, with two exceptions, my wife and I had an enjoyable experience aboard the Crown Princess. (1) There was a clear lack of capacity for many shore excursions, many of which were sold out weeks before the cruise began. One would have thought Princess could anticipate the number of passengers during the peak Summer period and plan accordingly. For those who plan a cruise around the assumption that they will be able to visit certain sites, the lack of capacity for shore excursions for which no alternative exists (for example, to Normandy and Paris from La Havre), raises questions about Princess' ethical and legal obligations to deliver what passengers pay for and expect. (2) I understand that Internet access via satellite may be intermittent at times based on the position of the ship. But to continuously receive the message of too many subscribers logged in suggests a different problem that represents a shortcoming within the ship's and Princess' power to control and correct. The lack of reasonable (if not continuous) Internet access created unanticipated work-related difficulties for me and caused unneeded problems during what was supposed to be primarily a vacation. If not fixed, this should give pause to anyone who requires onboard semi-regular Internet access.
