Review summary

Royal Caribbean has beautiful cruise ships and the Independence was wonderful. Lots of activities for the kids and adventurous. Gorgeous lounges and public areas to spend time in. We had a great mini-suite with veranda and loved our balcony and room time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was really good, although the portions were smaller than before. However, since we always had multiple course, we never went away hungry. Service was good, but not as great as the old days.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not my thing anymore - have seen so many. However, what I saw was good. Loved the arts and crafts - just wish there were more.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We had a ship full of kids - Spring Break. Unfortunately, more of the teens should have been using the facilities instead of roaming the ship, with no parent supervision, and causing problems.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They always do a great job of meeting our needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
As always, an exceptionally clean ship and beautiful decor.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was a good size and had everything we needed.

Pros: The whole cruise experience and the sights
