Sun Princess has potential to be a great cruise ship by NY2LA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sun Princess

Sun Princess has the potential to be a great ship once it gets all venues up and running. If you need a basic cruise vacation in the Mediterranean for relaxation, then you can enjoy this ship especially on the pool decks. I've had better menu variety in dining rooms on other cruise lines but it was still enjoyable on Sun Princess. Lido Slice had the best pizza. Gelateria was disappointing. Gelato was rock hard frozen on the day I had it. The bars were great and the service from the crew make up for whatever you might find is lacking on the ship. The only major downside for me was the poor air ventilation in the casino with smoke drifting outside of the casino at times. Princess needs to either improve the air circulation so smoke can dissipate faster in the casino or give smokers a lounge to hang out.

Sun princess a new ship not ready to be sailed by amyvanky

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sun Princess

To be fair to guests for the lack of entertainments, for missing promised high end activities and amenities, for charging unusual high cost for pier transits, high cost excursions, lack of food quality control, Sun princess should partially refund money to guests to compensate for their disappointments.

Pack your walking shoes for this very busy 20 day itinerary by TheGoodRoger

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sun Princess

Fantastic itinerary on a new ship. Ship: a new ship with some initial glitches. the Sun is so beautiful, that it was easy to look past the not ready elements. I was disappointed by the amount of space given over to up-charge elements; including specialty dining and sanctuary. Itinerary: very busy with long/full port days. not much time to enjoy the ship. The ports are great, but the "steps" added up over the course of the 20 long days (plus a day in Rome to start) -- even with a mix of guided excursions. You might plan on benching yourself a couple days to enjoy the ship.

Inaugural Sun Princess Mediterranean Cruise by Steph123456789

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sun Princess

Glad that I went. I learned that inaugural seasons are not for me. Also there were not enough sea days for me to unwind. Ports most days in beautiful places was tiring. This is a beautiful new ship.

Pleasant New Boat by mh30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sun Princess

The Sun Princess is well on its way! The ship is still not 100% done but I would say it's 90% there, and all the of the dining areas and bars are beautiful. I missed being able to use Park 19, but we were able to catch a couple shows in the Arena. The best part about this experience are the staff, who are so fun and personable. They really make it a great experience! Some negatives: The Princess Medallion app needs a lot of work. It is just inconsistent and glitchy. If Princess wants everyone to rely on this, it needs to work. I regularly got booted off the wifi, and the staff sometime had issues finding me on the ship even with my medallion. The large displays near the elevators also were a little hard to use and would get stuck sometimes. The laundry rooms were always full. Princess (and I) underestimated how many people would use the laundry services. The laundry rooms are large, and it seems like they could definitely fit a few more machines. One morning I got a "vegetable frittata." To my surprise when I started eating it, I noticed there were shrimp in the frittata. For me this was just an inconvenience, but I feel that things like shellfish and other common allergens should be labeled in the buffet since some people have severe reactions. My biggest gripe with this trip was that a member of our group ordered a motorized wheelchair to meet him on the boat, and Princess sent it off without confirming who it was for. Fortunately, he brought his own chair with him. Otherwise, he would not have been able to easily get around the ship or leave the boat at all in some cases. We went to guest services about this multiple times, and though they were apologetic, there was nothing done to remedy the situation. My relative struggled to get around in many of the ports of call because this chair he brought was not rated for extended use.

We loved our trip on the Sun Princess. The ship was modern, clean, and well designed. Excellent customer service onboard. We dined at the Reserve collection for dinner and enjoyed the food. Would definitely return for another trip.

they knew there was no Santorini visit and did not change or advised me to make it my option to go on this trip ,half of the ship doesn't work, dj was not a dj i think they didn't even have music on his laptop not even requesting the music they would play it. i don't think is right from such a big company to do this to people, feel very disappointed... 19th floor were the zip line and water slides were at was closed, the Dome was closed, the acrobat show never happened. advise do not go on this ship. they should have the ship working fully

Not what we thought AT ALL. by Cruiser9644137

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sun Princess

Would never go on a boat for first time. Wish we knew. Horrible food, the boat constantly rocked more than any other boat I have been on for being how big it is. There were no trash cans in the boat and the restrooms were hidden. There was no entertainment and to get a seat in the piazza you had to wait around for forever to save a seat or fight the crowd. It wasn’t worth the fight after the 3rd day when the shoes or music was not great. We should have gotten more credit or free things being the first sailers. Would not recommend this cruise ship to anyone.

Nice New Ship by cayowest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Saturn

Nice new ship is everything was in good working order. We don't cruise for the food and this didn't change our minds. We eat at local restaurants whenever possible. The crew were incredibly friendly and helpful. The change in our ports of call due to the current issues in Israel were completely necessary but too much time in Malta. Mykonos was a virtual ghost town. Not really worth the stop.

Israel war changed itinerary by DCS48

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic

Given the war in Israel and the change of itinerary things went fairly well. The ship was at 1/2 capacity due to cancelation of Israeli ports. The Epic Haven is excellent!

Great Cruise Ship with Lots of Options! by AllenTG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchanted Princess

The Enchanted Princess ship had lots of great food and entertainment options! The service was also very fast and responsive. I did like the GPS location service of the Medallion app that allows you to locate members of your party on the ship.

Trip of a lfetime by gingeranglin

Although a wonderful cruise with everything included. I wish there had been more choices of restaurants, I was not impressed with the chef’s table. Steaks on the ship were not tasty.

Fantastic cruise mostly due to itinerary and the ship by htownyankeejim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway

NCL corporate has cut back to the extreme. Lots of screwups: no excursion tickets, promised fruit, or dinner vouchers in my room. Pre-cruise concierge (Platinum & up) did NONE of the things they promised to do. Two ports cancelled due to ‘weather’: Athens (only 7 knot winds) and Livorno (3 other cruise ships in port, but our captain decided not to). A cruise is what you make it, so we had a great time despite the negatives. NCL now at the bottom of my cruise choices.
