Service desk staff- needed more training, offered wrong info and seemed overwhelmed. Spa- Cancelled my appointment 3x, two for no reason and 1 because a pipe burst. Luggage damaged at embarkation port internet- I paid for was useless and staff was rude. By the time it logged on it ate up most of your minutes.

We just returned from an amazing holiday in the Mediterranean on the Norwegian Epic (out of Rome 23 May). Memorable, off the beaten path activities included visiting Jungle Parc and completing their Extremo high ropes course, (http://www.jungleparc.es/en ) on Palma de Mallorca, visiting Marguerite Island near Cannes, and the chair lift to Monte Solaro in Capri. We were able to splurge on the Haven for this trip - and the experience was exceptional! Our concierge team of Omar and David were amazing. They worked unceasingly to ensure guests' needs were met. Our butlers and cleaning crew (Maria, Roland, Bianca) were also wonderful. The entire staff was genuinely friendly and some much fun to speak with about sights and their home countries. Most of our onboard entertainment was to relax! My daughter had bought us spa passes which were well used! I cannot recommend enough. I even fell asleep a few times just lounging on the back deck. We did go to a few shows. Burn the Floor was perfectly executed - with a cool twist on classic dance. Priscilla had great costumes and dancing. Howl at the moon / the magician acts / the Beatles were also good. Food quality and presentation varied a bit. The Haven restaurant and Moderno were my favorites. The only service complaint might be a long wait for dinner, but we learned to plan for that as the week progressed. Overall, this was a one of our vest holidays ever. Was tough to leave and come back to reality!

AMAZING ship and cruise!!!! by Zuckmani1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

(5/20/18 6-night Western Mediterranean) Wow! Where to start? if you are looking for a cruise with an amazing crew, great facilities, and a beautiful ship; then look at the Rhapsody of the Seas. She is a a slightly older ship, but no less beautiful and packed with state of the art features like wifi, giant video screens, and an ADULTS ONLY area called the Solarium. Our voyage was Barcelona to Venezia (Venice) with 4 ports on a 6 night cruise. The Ship was in port for many hours leaving ample time for longer excursions or great shopping. Pricing for merchandise is pretty cheap if you walk only a couple blocks off the main roads in port. Feel free to explore farther than normal as walking is a way of life in Europe and the narrower the road or alleyway, the nicer the people are. Side note: be alert for potential pick pocketers in congested areas, but that goes anywhere there are tourists. Also, to experience the wonderful people who 95% speak english, begin EVERY conversation with "Buenos Dias" in Spain, "Bonjour" in France, and "Bon Journo" in Italy...they will great you back with a smile and a warm heart....enjoy Western Europe as my wife and I did, can't wait to go back....

Western Med Cruise by carlg95069901

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was our first cruise since our honeymoon 30 years ago. Cruise was great and the staff for the most part were friendly and helpful and helpful (other than the bartenders who did a poor job overall) The excursions were all tremendous and we took advantage of excursions each and every day. I was disappointed with the food overall at the buffet (dinners). Room was great and view from balcony was awesome.

Beautiful destinations, Costa Luminosa, eh.. by Dreifuerst7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Luminosa / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship itself was nice, clean, couple pools and 4 hot tubs accommodated everyone. Very large ship, a lot of bars. Few complaints: the food is below average and buffet style, very repetitive, no change, for breakfast( my favorite and most important meal), if you want typical eggs pancakes sausage bacon, have to pay addionally for that and even that was below average. Same as lunch and dinner, buffet wasn’t good at all. WiFi cost money, no Internet cafe for free. I went with 2 friends, the cleaning service did a good job cleaning, we were not aware we were charge $10 each day, all 3 of us. $70/per to clean our room? For that price we would of cleaned it ourselves if we knew.. We also felt very uninformed on this cruise, I personally feel Costa suck with marketing and making their customers aware of all the options they have to offer. Probably would never cruise with Costa again.

Awesome Adriatic and Aegean Cruise by giselegagnon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Everything was awesome! Embarkment and disembarkment so easy!!! The staff was welcoming and very helpful! This is a great way to see many places in a short amount of time! Most excursions were fabulous and Princess was receptive to review those that fell short. Plenty to do on the ship even though we chose to rest mostly because the excursions were tiring!

Costa Europe on the Luminosa by joep3351006

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Luminosa / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The Costa boarding process in Venice was terrible. There was a massive amount of people standing in a warehouse waiting for their group number to be called. There were simply not enough Costa employees. We waited in line for 1 1/2 hours. On our first night we were told by our waiter that he could not serve us an alcoholic drink. We had to retrieve our own drinks from a bar on the ship. I found it less than funny that the bar next to the dining room was closed during dinner. We were also unclear why you could only get black coffee after dinner since this same dining room serves breakfast with coffee, cream and sugar. We have been on 7 cruises (this was our first Costa) and we have never seen so many people fighting over so few seats on the 9th deck. One day we actually had to take our lunch plates back to our cabin after circling the deck for 20 minutes. Forget going to the Hospitality Desk to get an a straight answer to any questions. After being told 3 different times to return to the desk for assistance I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was told they wouldn't come out to speak with me. The desk staff would not even give me their name. We had a great vacation. Our room steward Mark was great, our waiter Saber was also very good. Our excursions were all fun and I felt a good value. We learned valuable lessons for selecting future cruises in Europe.

Great Cruise by TucsonBob

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Celebrity onboard excursions groups are way to big. Only advantage is 24 hour cancel policy. AA cruise excursions were small groups and much better. Only problem is the 7 day cancel policy. They need to address this issue and get it down to 3 day cancel policy

Beautiful ship, lovely crew children permitted to take over the pools and night clubs !! by strobino

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Diadema / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Traveled with Costa before and we were VERY pleased. It was very frustrating that so many children controlled the pools without being corrected and they were permitted in the clubs until the wee hours.

Wonderful cruise - very happy with ship, staff, and itinerary by BethanieKay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The Spirit is one of the older ships in the NCL fleet, but it's clean and well-maintained. It doesn't have all the fancy bells and whistles that the newer mega-ships have, but the smaller capacity means the ship is easier to get around and feels more intimate. The staff was fabulous; everyone was friendly, helpful, and did their best to make our vacation fantastic. The food and drink were perfectly fine, and so were the activities. We really appreciated the Freestyle Cruising concept, and were happy we weren't forced to eat at assigned times, sitting with strangers. We very much enjoyed the itinerary; every port was different, and with the exception of the massive issues with returning to the ship in Santorini, all the ports were really wonderful. Overall this was a fantastic vacation, and we definitely look forward to Cruising like a Norwegian again in the future :)

Mediterranean Cruise (Barcelona Roundtrip) by patch1958

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

My first MSC cruise so to compare it to the others: Embarkation was a nightmare. This is the first time I've cruised where people embark and disembark at all ports. That being said, this process is painful. When you need to leave for a tour, the lines to leave are very long because the other stations are waiting for people to embark. That was the worst part of the cruise. We booked the Yacht Club and it really was a top experience. We met other passengers on the ship who were not part of the YC and they had many complaints. Our YC experience included everything (alcohol, 24 hour butler & concierge) minibar, robes, spa sauna) and prime seating on tours and in the shows. The only extras were WiFi, massages and a specialty restaurant. Others on the ship has to pay for water! The suite was small; equal to a RCCL balcony room, but as previously stated, the amenities were bountiful. We had our own restaurant, pool, bar and elevator. I am looking to book another YC cruise with MSC. RCCL has competition in my book.
