Absolutely wonderful Greek islands Cruise by BradJohnstone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Sea / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We very much loved this cruise! The one major disappointment (Knossos closed) was overshadowed by the rest of the cruise, and any issues (noisy room, premium liquor package availability at all bars were dealt with to our satisfaction). Thank you VIKING!

Spectacular Middle East Itinerary by agoldsleger

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Pursuit / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Azamara Pursuit is a very nice ship with excellent service for the most part. The itinerary was very good and it allowed us to see many sites at a leisurely pace. I would probably sail on the ship again for the right itinerary.

On the run Europe by kingpin318

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Nonstop 9-10 hr shore excursions. Early mornings until around 6 pm then maybe dinner and sleep to do it all over again. Too much to see and not enough time. 7 days 7 ports. Great trip but I should have stayed another week.

Good to be vacationing, feeling safe, services getting up to speed by VintageDancer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

A relaxing vacation without the privacy moments for adults or play opportunities for the child we were hoping for. Still, wonderful ports, possibly new friends, and great memories.

Great Cruise! by jcluff021

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Sea / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Best ocean cruise we have ever taken. Viking provides an unbelievable vacation experience like no other cruise line I have been on. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and on-board personnel and the excellent job they do handling all of their passengers. The only real complaint I have is that my wife and I are retired and have many options available to us when we want to take a vacation. This is the second time we booked a Viking cruise on our wedding anniversary to celebrate, and the second time Viking forgot or did not make special arrangements for us. We booked the Viking Sea to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary and made arrangements with Viking for a celebration at the Chef's Table on the 22nd of April. I confirmed this booking and celebration 6 weeks, 4 week and 2 weeks before we sailed. But the night we arrived on the 22nd of April at the Chef's I the Maitre D' it was our anniversary, but alas no recognition, no celebration no nothing. Very, Very embarrassed and disappointed that Viking made no effort to help us celebrate.

Less than Perfect by richard90814

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I unfortunately will not take another Norwegian cruise it was my least favorite cruise line and this is my 5th cruise experience with various lines. The food was unsatisfactory to me. There was very little to do on the import days if you stayed on the ship. Limited food and bar service at in port days.

Amazing Itinerary by shazamdroid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I would definitely recommend this cruise. If I could make changes, I would add another day in Jerusalem and another day in Istanbul. There were many religious sites to see, and a longer stay at the ports would have been worth the extra cost to extend the itinerary.

Join the excursions you'll enjoy them. The kusadasi, the Limassol, Haifa and Athens areas are the best tours one should take.

Great ship and itinerary, but the weather was cooler and wetter than expected by jbsanchez194

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Riviera / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Oceania has about the best food and service of any cruise line. The Riviera is a wonderful ship that is large enough to not lack important amenities without being too large. We simply won't cruise on ships carrying more than 1,500 passengers to avoid feeling like cattle in a roundup. The itinerary took us to so many islands we might not otherwise be able to visit. The staff, all the way up to the cruise director, were wonderful. One noteworthy exception was the Concierge on Deck 5, who was at best useless and at worst condescending. But don't let that detract from what was otherwise an outstanding cruise.

Ship could use better food. by bonniecalderone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Food was not that good, help was not trained on the ship. Our balcony cabin was small. Smoking section was too many steps to get to. Casino was small and could not smoke in there. Kind of disappointed in overall cruise ship. The ports we stopped at were good but almost could not walk into towns on most ports.

Good but needs some work especially with technology by csthomas4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Regal Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The cruise itself was good overall. However, the tech issues in registering and onboard were very disappointing. Princess needs to fine-tune and/or upgrade some aspects of their technology infrastructure in order to deliver on the customer experience. The following is a summary of the issues: 1) I previously cruised on Princess in 2002 and as a result was in the system under Christopher Thomas. The registration for the cruise I just completed was booked under Chris Thomas. As a result, the website and app would not allow me to link the account to the upcoming cruise using the booking number. And it would not allow me to create a new account under Chris Thomas since my contact information matched an existing account. 2) I called customer service a couple of weeks prior to the sailing and the tech department agent informed me that there were widespread issues with the app system and to try to register again in 24-48 hours. They recommended that I call back if it didn’t work in the next few days. 3) I called a week later, and the tech department agent identified the problem with different first names on the existing account and reservation (Christopher vs. Chris). She tried several times to fix the problem but with no luck. She then manually entered all of the information for my party. There seemed to be lots of issues with how the system was set up and designed and I had to provide the same information (names, ages, passport numbers, etc.) multiple times. This took an hour and a half to complete. The representative was excellent and did her best to help. She set up a ticket for someone else on the tech team to fix the name issue and said they would call. 4) The only call back I received was a message few days later informing me that I hadn’t registered my information and that this was mandatory before the sailing. I called in and was informed that everything had been entered and I was good to go. 5) When I spoke with the tech agent who registered the information manually, I asked about COVID testing and was told I needed to do this with two days of sailing and to try to do so just before we got on the plane. My family and I went out of our way to get tests on the day of our departure only to learn when we arrived at the port, that the tests had to be within 24 hours and as a result we had to take another test before boarding. It wasn’t so much the issue of having to take the test before boarding but the time and effort that was wasted on the day of departure. 6) When we completed check-in and boarded the boat, we found out our rooms had been moved. Because we have young children, we had booked rooms across the hall from each other. In fact, this was one of the main reasons we booked this particular cruise. Instead our rooms were five decks apart on different locations of the boat. We stood in line for more than an hour and then worked with a customer service agent who was rude and at one point when my wife was asking about how the WIFI worked told her to stop talking or she wasn’t going to be able to try to fix the issue. Despite the boat being less than half full, the best solution the customer service rep could find was rooms that were two decks apart but supposedly on the same side. When we went to the rooms, they weren’t on the same side of the boat. My wife waited in line again and a different agent was very helpful and was able to move one of the rooms next-door to the other one. 7) The only issue with changing rooms were the medallions, which the system struggled to change. We had to go to customer service and then the other three prior rooms multiple times to try/reset the medallions before they finally worked. Some of the medallions stopped working and we had to go to customer service and then to the other rooms yet again. Customer service was finally able to four of the medallions to work on both rooms but we finally gave up on getting the other two to work. We spent a lot of time during the first few days working with customer service to trouble shoot the issue. 8) When I asked the tech agent who registered us about fixing the Chris vs Christopher issue, so the app would work. She said someone should get back to me, but if they didn’t the ships have different networks and I shouldn’t have a problem once I was onboard. Unfortunately, onboard the app still didn’t allow me to link to the cruise. I went to customer service once and they were not able to address the issue. I ended up giving up after that and unfortunately wasn’t able to use the features of the app, including ordering drinks. We recognize that the cruise industry is fortunately coming back and in the process there are lots of bugs and issues. At the same time, it is imperative that steps are taken to address these, especially since technology is an integral part of a new flagship medallion program. Otherwise, the customer experience suffers and it’s difficult for us and others who experience these problems to recommend and/or justify cruising with Princess.

Southern European Cruise by molardocs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We loved every port and learned a lot, especially Kusadasi/Ephasus. While at sea, the entertainment and food was excellent. My only request was to have more trivia games at sea and not when at port as we missed a few while on an excursion.
