Nice cruise on a somewhat tired ship by scottnmibrown

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Star

An itinerary just going to Montenegro, Croatia, and Slovenia maybe along with Bari or one of the other Eastern Italian cities would be preferable. Maybe a day in Venice, but I know that is not really feasible

Excellent Stops. Excellent Service. by dave4227186

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Infinity

The main description claimed Egypt and Israel as stops. This is an error. We knew the correct stops when we booked. There is no doubt we have come to love Celebrity with having cruised with them 20 times. The food is usually very very good. The staff predict your needs. The staterooms are always clean and tidy. Infinity is a lovely ship. We like her more than her newer sister, Summit.

Alternate was Okay by Lvinn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity

Our cruise with Celebrity was as good as one could hope for in the off season. Even though the war that developed between Israel and the West Bank meant completely changing the itinerary, Celebrity managed to pull off a great trip. We would have preferred to have an extra day in Ephesus and skip Cyprus, but that was only apparent in hind sight. We would still like to visit Rhodes and the ports on the original Israel and Egypt itinerary.

Ship: Celebrity Infinity

we originally booked this cruise to Israel and Egypt, they changed the itinerary to best of greece and we expected poor weather in the winter time, it turned out each day was wall to wall sunshine with a high of 60 each day, it was perfect for visiting ruins

A Wonderful Foreign Fantasy by ronfmoore

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Saturn

The post cruise 3 day extension in Cappadocia, Turkey was a fairytale experience in a cave hotel. Unfortunately it was too windy for balloon rides. The ship itself had the best food and service I ever experienced. The guides selected maximized our enjoyment and education on tour.

Great time of year to go. Crowds were at a minimum. by DebbieKasper

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Venus

Going in December was great. The crowds were at a minimum and the weather was not that cold. We got to get an up close and personal visit to most of the sites.

Fair at best by rakmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Dawn

I don't know that I would vacation again this late in the season, the waters were rough and certain tours were canceled then we got sick as many guess were sick. When we arrived home we were testing positive for COVID.

European Cruise on Riviera by gc19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Riviera

We will always probably cruise on Oceania, but it definitely felt less high end this time around vs. our last cruise in 2022. The cruise ship director didn't seem as engaged, the entertainment was subpar, the art classes were not appealing at all (the artist made the classes nearly impossible to attend), the butlers weren't as attentive, and especially the staff was all around less helpful and keen to be there.

Viking is subpar to it's top competitor Celebrity. by Lincolnite

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Viking Neptune

Overall, I would rate my experience on the Viking Neptune as just okay. I have only been on one cruise before, the Celebrity Edge. I felt the Viking cruise was considerably pricier and offered quite a bit less than the Edge. I can honestly say I probably would never go on a Viking Cruise again.

Interesting experience by GiBe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Viking Neptune

Overall ship is a beautiful hotel on the water! Very disappointed in the excursions, granted they were my choice, so, I’ve learned a lot! Maybe when I’m older I’ll do another cruise?!

Great Value for the Money by killshot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Gem

The cruise was a great value for the price. Lots to do on the ship, and enough places to eat. I found the restaurant seemed to have the same menu each night, and in two restaurants, each had the same menu as the other. There was quite a variety of excursion choices- something for everyone. Or you could venture out into each city on your own. I've taken quit a few cruises, and this was one of the better ones.

Alternate Itinerary Turned Out to Be Most Memorable by jloresco1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Journey

We can't wait to join another Azamara journey. The AzAmazing night at the Odeon amphitheater in Ephesus and the White Night event on the ship while docked in Santorini are so special and memorable.

Beautiful Ports by wtmrind

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas

This is an older ship and was not up to par. It seems that Royal Caribbean has cut staff and quality of the food and service was poor.

Virgin(ity) taken. Our first Virgin cruise. by KRP2773

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Resilient Lady

The best cruise we have been on (our 3rd together). Virgin brings new ships and a new vision to what cruising should be. The way they approach satisfying their sailors is awesome. The entertainment, the food, the rooms and the staff are all top notch. My wife and I had the best time and are planning to return to take another voyage already. **Personal note. Virgin Voyages is very proud to employ and welcome the LGBTQ community onboard so PLEASE be respectful of all lifestyles on the ship and enjoy the best cruising on the seas.

Great locations, food, ship, and excursions - looking forward to the next trip by arigsby28737298

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Sea

It was a great cruise, the one regret is that we did not know (did not ask) about where our ship was going next. It was going on to San Juan Puerto Rico and we would have liked to stay on it to visit more cities. Was a great time and regretted having to get off.

Viking Jupiter Cruise by Bob29

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Jupiter

An interesting cruise but several ports were too similar. Ship staff provided excellent service. One suggestion would be 2 days for Venice stop — one half day for Chioggo and a full day for excursions to Venice due to distance from Venice.
