An Excellent Cruise by BenT2

Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This is a well maintained cruise ship. Very clean in the areas used by the passengers. The crew we had contact with were always friendly and helpful. An example is the room stewards. They introduced themselves to us upon arrival and from that point on they always greeted us by name each time we encountered them on the ship.

itinerary delivers exciting ports by JohnZ3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship handles a huge crowd of over 2300 people very easily. Main positive in crowd control are lots of fast moving elevators. Yes, there were lines , but they moved quickly, and you didn't need to have a strategy to avoid congestion or long lines. We noticed that past reviewerscomplained about specialty restaurant reservations being hard to obtain. NCL has now established a policy that reservations can only be accepted 48 hrs in advance, so there is more openings thru a cruise. We had no problems getting reservations at Cagneys steak house for the last night of the cruise. Our balcony cabin was clean, comfortable and very quiet.

History at its best by MikeI4

The ship is very large and accomodates so many passengers you lose the intimate feel and special attention you find on smaller ships. It is lavishly decorated and was fun to explore. The crew are very helpful and friendly. It is a great place to brush up on languages as five are spoken on board.

A pleasant cruise by SusanF7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We cruised on the Costa Victoria and feel that the ship was beautiful and well kept. The food was good but compared to Princess and Celebrity didn't have as good of a variety. The service was very good at the dining room. We had to take an inside cabin because there were no outside cabins left and we found the room to be smaller than any other ship that we have sailed on and this was our 19 th cruise. We actually tried the costa line because of the itinery , it was the Greek Islands which we enjoyed very much.

Super Itinerary by RobertH25

Good ship. Not as elaborate as others we have cruised on but OK. Clean and well maintained. Crew was extremely friendly, to the point of taking time to just talk about themselves and wanting to learn about us.

Lots of fun by ReneeM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Mediterranea / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

It is a beautiful ship. There was not enough time in ports of call, would almost prefer another day at sea as I felt like I was on the fun the entire trip. Yes it was my choice to do a tour each day but there was no free time in the port if you take a tour. No time for shopping or soaking up atmosphere and people watching.

A nice cruise by Harryp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The passengers are 75% Italian and speeching only english is an obstical. We found the different languages and culteral customs interesting and found that to be a plus. I could see where some people may not .

A terrific vacation cruise by DonL5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

It was the trip of a lifetime and the cruise ship really came through. The choice of ports were outstanding and the terminal port of Venice added another couple of days to our vacation. There was really nothing to complain about. The food was great, so much so that we never bothered to have a meal in any of the ports. The entertainment was top rate and varied. The entertainment staff really seemed to enjoy their jobs and seemed to go out of their ways to connect with the passengers. Service staff was so polite and paid such attention to detail that they make you feel like a king (just like the commercials say!) I really have to get very picky to find any criticism but just to be balanced I would state a few very minor details: A small refrigerator in the stateroom would be nice to keep a few cool snacks. Better port maps for those who like to explore on their own and not participate in packaged shore excursions. The information provided seemed geared mostly towards shopping. Perhaps separating preview information into shopping, sightseeing, exploring, cultural, sporting activities etc. would be useful. Not everyone likes to shop. Midnight buffet at 1:00 AM is a little late for some of us, especially when the next day's port of call is at 8:00 AM. Keep the ice cream open until midnight instead of 11:00 PM. These are my biggest criticisms and they are nearly insignificant. For all practical purposes the cruise was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone.
