Norwegian Jewel

12 Night Egypt & Greek Isles (Athens To Istanbul)

Sail date: May 07, 2007

Ship: Norwegian Jewel

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 14 years ago

Review summary

The ship handles a huge crowd of over 2300 people very easily. Main positive in crowd control are lots of fast moving elevators. Yes, there were lines , but they moved quickly, and you didn't need to have a strategy to avoid congestion or long lines. We noticed that past reviewerscomplained about specialty restaurant reservations being hard to obtain. NCL has now established a policy that reservations can only be accepted 48 hrs in advance, so there is more openings thru a cruise. We had no problems getting reservations at Cagneys steak house for the last night of the cruise. Our balcony cabin was clean, comfortable and very quiet.

Pros: The Itinerary is fantastic. Cairo is the highlight. followed by Athens, Ephesus, Istanbul, Crete and 4 other unique Greek Islands.

Cons: I am somewhat physically limited on walking. There is defiintely room for improvement to meet the US standards set out in the disability act of 1990.
