12 Night Egypt & Greek Isles (Athens To Istanbul)
Sail Date: May 07, 2007
Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 7 years ago
The ship handles a huge crowd of over 2300 people very easily. Main positive in crowd control are lots of fast moving elevators. Yes, there were lines , but they moved quickly, and you didn't need to have a strategy to avoid congestion or long lines. We noticed that past reviewerscomplained about specialty restaurant reservations being hard to obtain. NCL has now established a policy that reservations can only be accepted 48 hrs in advance, so there is more openings thru a cruise. We had no problems getting reservations at Cagneys steak house for the last night of the cruise. Our balcony cabin was clean, comfortable and very quiet.

Blue Mosque, Spice market, Grand Bazaar, are all very unique. We did not see Topkapi palace, and we regret that.

We had dinner at a restaurant named Alegro in the downtown area. It was very good and overloooked the harbor. They have a nice small seafood plater of local seafood.

Pros: The Itinerary is fantastic. Cairo is the highlight. followed by Athens, Ephesus, Istanbul, Crete and 4 other unique Greek Islands.

Cons: I am somewhat physically limited on walking. There is defiintely room for improvement to meet the US standards set out in the disability act of 1990.

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!
