A great cruise by ArchieN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nautica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship is beautiful and the staff and crew are exceptional. The ports of call are the best of any other cruises we have been on. It is a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. The state rooms are very comfortable and clean. We love the cruise line but the food in the main dining room was not near as good as the other Oceania cruises we were on. We were very disappointed.

why go on the Jewel? by T5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We recently went on the Jewel and what a disappointment! This cruiseline more than the others will nickle and dime you. They force you to pay for dinner because the food and service is so unbearable. Therefore adding to the price of the cruise.

An Excellent Cruise by SlviaC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I am 37 years old. It was my 2nd time on the Splendour of the seas, has I knew that the ship was in Portugal to be refurnised, I wandered how it was, I was curious, so we, my husband and I decided to go on the Splendour again. What a wonderful work, it seemed I was in a new ship. About the travelling it was very good, all was as I planned.

Time for a Makeover by JudiJ37784012

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Having sailed on the Grand when it was new, we expected it to have aged, but aged with dignity. The ship still looked "okay" but was well worn, but there were many issues. There was little seating in the public areas, the entertainment was below par, the crew was not interested in pleasing the passengers, and the activities were scarce. It was a good thing that the ports were the drawing point of this cruise and that there was only 1 sea day. We were very disappointed with this ship.

Mediterranean marvel by KarenG15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Galaxy / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We are a family with 2 children, ages 13 & 11. We had two connecting staterooms (inside), and had plenty of space compared to some other cruises we've been on. The itinerary and ports were wonderful and we went on excursions every chance we could. Pre-booking excursions is a nice feature. We also booked a post-cruise hotel stay in Rome and though it was expensive to book thru celebrity, we were glad we did....we really got the VIP treatment getting thru the airport on our day of departure. The celebrity rep helped us every step of the way. Transfers were handled well. My only complaint is with the ship security...my son bought a dull toy dagger in one of the ports and the ship security confiscated it until the end of the cruise. It most certainly could not have been used as a weapon and we had one dissapointed child. I suppose you might find it comforting to know that the ship is very safe, but the whole scene was unpleasant and unnecessary. Otherwise it was a great experience for us all.

Venice to Athens and Inbetween by gjp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Armonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Never could understand why we did not do this cruise before. The Greek island were beautiful, Santorni's white homes and blue roofs overlooking the deep blue sea. Mikonos, with their windmills and Athens - history, traffic and smog. One of the prettiest cities was Dubrovnik - the high walls that surrounded the city, great seafood and the oldest Pharmacy in the world. The Armonia was great, Italian waitstaff gave us some of the best service on the seven seas. This is a cruise I would do again.

Our room was messed up once we entered it. There were no towels in the bathroom, and the bed was completely was on the floor. They also lost our luggage, and they happend to find it at the very end of the trip. The staff was extremely rude. It would take an hour just to get food in the resteraunt.

My family had a great time by LoriB15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Fortuna / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We enjoyed our Mediterranean cruise on the Fortuna. My three sons ranged in age from 9 to 13 and found the kids club lacking (too crowded and not very fun), but there was plenty of other things to do. I was worried that the smoking would be hard to avoid since it is an Italian ship and, as Californian, I am not accustomed to having to breath anyone's smoke, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. They did not allow smoking in any of the dining areas and very few off the bars. The food was varied and good . . . not gourmet . . . but good. I liked that they served Italian food and played Italian music in Italian waters, switched everything to Greek in the Greek waters and then to all Arabic in Libya. The stateroom was very nice and the steward was fantastic. The ship was very clean. All announcements are in five languages and it was fun to be where English speakers were by far the minority.

Wonderful ports and staff on the ship! by Krautgraphics

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Getaway

Great ports of call, which was most important to us. Food and entertainment choices lack luster, so thankfully we didn't gain the obligatory 5 pounds. Staff was wonderful. Ship is clean and nicely laid out.

The Definition of Luxury Worldwide vs Reality - The big disappointment by AlsterHamburg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explora I

This was not a Luxury Ship and not a Luxury Cruise. Nobody will guide you to your Cabin. The Ship was too cold because of the AC. The " Drill" was finished within Seconds! We only needed to show our Cabin Pass that was the Drill. No informations what you need to do in an Emergency! You need to switch on the TV to get informed. You need to read the daily Bulletin. The Cabin has no Bell. Opposite to the times of the Tender (boat) displayed in the Ship and written in the daily Bulletin it can be changed as well as of the Restaurants, Bars and Cafés. The Cruise Director wanted to meet me and invited us for a Dinner with him. But it hasn't taken place. Get informed with help of Google and Internet.

Celebrating Life by maymac99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

We were a group of 10 with a mix of adults and young adults. There was something for EVERYONE to do. From day one we felt welcome and were guided to our rooms quickly so we could feel relaxed immediately. Staff were knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Staff were attentive to our needs especially Ludivina/Putri during main dining. Directions for ports were clear and there was sufficient transportation to and from shore. We loved this cruise and would definitely do another.
