Our first and last cruise with Costa We had ecpected an "Italian" atmosphere of quality and spirit. The interior design was tasteless. Almost to get sisick from! Dining was a trauma

Our first Oceania Cruise by FredZ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nautica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was our first cruise on Oceania and our expectations were high. I must say we were not disappointed as they delivered in every way. Due to the size of the staterooms, we chose the smaller suite. The butler service was nice but we did not use his services very often.

A LOVELY SHIP by Michael35630392

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

WE SAILED HER IN THE MED THIS PAST NOVEMBER. WE HAVE CRUISED OVER 20 TIMES AND FOUND THIS SHIP TO BE AS NICE AN EXPERIENCE AS ANY PREVIOUS. ONE MAY ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT, HOWEVER THE GOOD OVERWELMED ANY OF THE MINOR FLAWS, AND WE MEAN MINOR. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SAILING HER AGAIN IN 2010. AS GENERAL MACARTHUR ONCE SAID, "WE'LL BE BACK"

Bigger is not better by PaulE5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We chose this cruise because of its itinerary and were not disappointed in that respect. All shore excursons were efficiently managed and delivered on their promises. Guides were informative and professional. Nonetheless, we were not satisfied with the food which was at most meals either less than ordinary or average at best. Unlike other cruise lines, there was not lobster offered (fleet-wide on RCC) and the traditional parade of servers was accomplished without the Baked Alaska. Fish dishes were uniformly tasteless (an opinion shared by everyone at our table of eight); other offerings were spotty. As the cruise progressed, we chose entees that we felt were "safe" rather than opting for more exotic fare. In short, if cruise ship meals are banquet food, then this was like a high school banquet. People-moving is a challenge on a large ship such as this. We had an hour wait to tender back aboard at Villefranche. Another evening we waited 20 minutes on the bus in order to get in line for another 20 minutes to board the ship. Waits like this were the order of each day. Our luggage was misplaced upon disembarkation (although it was recovered and caught up with us at our destination.) The promised final, printed bill was never delivered to us and the customer satisfaction survey never arrived either (we wonder if they knew what we would say). We will cruise again but not with this ship, not with this cruise line.

Fantastic experience! by ElsabethA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We had a wonderful cruise with calm sailing in the Mediterranean. Service was excellent - everybody was helpful and friendly. Wide variety in the free dining areas and not long queues. Free drinks could have been more varied - not just iced tea. Ports of call and excursions were very good - maybe could leave out Egypt, as the travelling time to Cairo was so long and Egypt was disgustingly dirty and a health hazard! Could have had theme music for the different ports of call or theme dinners eg Greek food and music in Greece. Enterntainment fair, but sometimes very loud. Crew show excellent! All in all had a very special holiday for our 40th wedding anniversary. They went out of their way to make us feel very special. Can recommend this ship and ports of call (Istanbul and Greek Islands)

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

It is a beautiful ship. Would love to go back on it or another like it. We think we are ruined now, by this we mean.....We went on one of the best for our first cruise and now lesser crusies don't appeal to us.

Excellent Ship, Excellent Itinerary!! by LoveT2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Galaxy / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was our 2nd time on The Galaxy...loved it then and still love it. The overall size is just small enough to be comfortable and big enough to provide all the amenities we've enjoyed on larger ships, but on a smaller scale. We ended up with the 6 best table mates we have ever had on a cruise.....destined to be good friends for years to come. This was an 11 night cruise and it was smooth sailing the entire trip. We thoughly enjoyed this cruise and highly recommend it.

Mediterranean Dream Cruise by AprilB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

It was bigger and more crowded than we like, but the only way to see the Med on this itinerary. The staff was wonderful, as usual, and everything was kept "ship-shape" and orderly throughout.

A disappointing experience by MarcoP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crystal Serenity / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We had the perfect experience on Crystal Symphony two years ago (2007), so we decided to take another cruise on Crystal Serenity. The food was still great, but the service was bad. Most staff did not seem to care, and many mistakes were made.

Pleasant but oversold in brochure by ColinH61257562

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Quest (RETIRED) 578 / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The brochure leads you to believe this is exceptional but it isn't. Decor is above average and it is generally clean. Some service is excellent but others average as prepaid tips give room staff no incentive. Overhead charges were increased between booling and sailing which is poor. The ship looked tired in places in some furnishings in the public areas and drinks machines. Customer service staff were excellent always willing to give independent advice without over selling the tours. Senior staff ineffective as disruptive French children were not dealt with until day 13 of the trip. This shio is not large enough or have sufficient facilities for children.

Overall a good cruise! by SandraR9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Costa Serena / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was very nice! The staff also was very nice and they all spoke english so that was a plus! The problem with the hot tubs and the pools was that the rule that no children are allowed was never enforced, I love kids so I'm not complaining about them being loud or playing around, but sometimes it just got to the point where the hot tubs were full of kids and you couldn't even get in! The color of the water in the hot tubs was almost greenish and didn't make me feel like it was very clean! The cabins were the most spacious cabins I have ever found on a cruise ship. Overall it was very nice, the food was the best I have ever had on a ship!

Never ever again !!!!!! by Glenn10555719

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Check in was fast & painless.Cabins were clean & large. The rest is all downhill. Our second morning we had to meet in the lounge area to leave on an excursion. almost all the people left for the gangway at the same time & the pushing & shoving were not to be believed. On our second excersion we were give a code # & when entering the lounge we were told they had already left (even though we were on time). we were told to get on another bus & when we get to our destination, to go & look for our correct bus on our own.3400 - 3500 people on a cruise ship is entirely to much & will eventually ruin the industry. By the way, 2 days before we docked to go home I accidently left an evvelope on the bed while transfering money. upon getting back the $ was gone & when we went to the pursers office we were told that when you leave an envelope on the bed the cabin steward considers it a tip. Of course the cabin steward denied it & we are out $300. I filed a complaint to which I am still waiting for a reply. Never ever again !!!! Back to RCC, Princess & holland America. More expensive, but remember. You get what you pay for.

Avoid at all costs by KevinB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Our trip on this ship was awful. To start the toilets on our entire level stopped working... for four days! Their reply to our issues, they know about the issue. I don't know about you, but if you paid for upgraded facilities you expect a better reply than we know. We we denied service during one of our meals and the spa proceeded to fry my fiance's hair. DO NOT TAKE THIS CRUISE! To make matters worse, Royal Caribbean proceeds to ignore these issues and provided a simple "sorry". I don't know about you, but having your room and floor smell like feces for over half your cruise, lousy service and bad facilities.... sorry does not cover it. AVOIID AT ALL COSTS.

Thank you NCL by MarcL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We are from Belgium and it's for us our first "american 'cruise. We've cruise with european company and can say that's not to compare. Quality of food realy better (we'de like all speciality restaurants but also the free ones. buffet choice is wonderfull) Freestyle is realy to apreciate because you just do what you want! We like to go to restaurant and don't care to pay more if we can have quality, what we had. We needed a vacation in couple and we never had problem to have a table for two. We didn't take excurtion whitch were expensive (like on all other cruise company) and we don't play bingo or casino so it was for us our cheaper cruise and the best.
