Not My Cup Of Tea by garyedavis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I know that a lot of the port problems were not of NCL’s making, but that didn’t make it any better. The cruise as it eventualized certainly was not what was expected and certainly not worth the money, nor effort, involved. All that we really saw was Glacier Bay National Park but one would do a lot better on a small ship, and shorter cruise, if this was all you wanted! Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience.

only 650 passengers : Cruse staff outnumbered us! by auburn13356

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall it was very fun cruise. We honestly packed too much figure it was going to brrrr cold up there but the temp was almost near the same as back in Seattle, WA. While crusing, we had a lots of fun, entertainment was outstanding every night. Free cocktails were super enjoyable; everyone on board was super nice and friendly. It was a memorable cruise. We also spent lot of money on arts. Heck! you live only once.

The ship is beautiful and all of the employees are very pleasant and accommodating. The daily updates/schedules on the TV were much appreciated. I especially enjoyed the Steve and Neal show every day - informative and hilarious at the same time.

A JOKE. Nothing like going on a Glacier Cruise where they cancelled the Glacier Viewing by acayer12161083

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

As I said this was a JOKE of a cruise. Royal Carribean should be investigated for false advertising and lies. A couple of week prior to the cruise they sent a message saying that they would not cruise by any Galciers because of a damaged engine. I found out on the crusie and from the internet that it was a lie. The Smithsonian channel they have a video on the Quantum class ships where they show that the ships have 4 enginees and only use 3 enginees and the 4 engien is a backup device so that they always have 3 engines available. So if they have a spare engine that excuse is a lie. Doing some research online I found complaints from passengers back in July that the truth was there had been a fire in July in the engine room that had done some damage. But they waited until only 2 weeks before the cruise to tell us that the glaciers had been cancelled and came up with this lie. Now lets get down to the real truth, gas prices are up and this gave them an idea to pocket some money by skipping the most popular part of the trip and save money by not going to locations where they also do not make money from excursions. After all they have NO excursions at the glaciers so they want to get to the ports where they can make millions in excursion money fees. They also same hundres of thousands of dollars by slowing down the ship to save gas money. This tirp was advertised as a Alaska with glaciers, and so they decide to increase their profits by skiping the Glaciers, which is the biggest selling proint for these cruises. Maybe the DOT needs to look into these cruise lines pumping out all the lies and hidding the truth about safety problems on these ships. What is it going to take, for a ship with 5,000 people on board sinking or bruning before the DOT takes it serious that there may be some real problems with these curise lines lying?

Exceeded our expectations. by karleick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

To list a few highlights, the ship was very safety conscious; maintenance, function and appearance of everything aboard was perfect; crew service, professionalism and friendliness was outstanding; food and dining choices were exceptionally good; the entertainment and activities for kids and adults thrilled all of us. In short the entire cruise experience exceeded our expectations.

I mostly enjoyed the food and entertainment on this cruise. My dining experience was most enjoyable due to Michael, Bernedette and Renaldo. I could relax knowing that my food was delicious and would not cause me to have any reactions to due to food allergies.

Just okay for first cruise by Kailuagirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Encore / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

For my first cruise, it was just okay! I had zero expectations, so I wouldn't be disappointed. However, I was slightly disappointed. I'm not sure I'd do another cruise.

Amazing Alaska by krbear71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall the trip was great, with many disappointments - mostly due to the weather, but also the stops along the way. Was very disappointing when we were told we could not cancel an excursion we had booked and get a refund. We ended up having to swallow over $400 when we realized there was not enough time in Ketchikan to do the excursion and see the town or anything else for that matter. I would not do this itinerary again, although I do plan to see Alaska again, it will NOT be by cruise boat.

Wonderful inspite of complications by danielvenzke

Physical limitations developed during cruise which severely limit my participation in planned excursions and on ship activities. A diabetic crisis prevented enjoying most menu offerings.

Think this cruise was provided too late in the year. Weather did not cooperate; therefore we lost much of the trip, 1 stop, and cruising through Endicott Pass and glaci We really did not get to see much of Alaska.

Don't go to Laska in September and if you end up in Vancouver, take a shuttle back to Seattle. Don't uses Vancouver Airport.
