Great Cruise Choice! by JPREV1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The suite was well worth the extra cost. The most enjoyable, and unexpected aspect of the cruise was the terrific entertainment. This includes on board-musicians, magician and comedian, as well as the excursions. We did excursions in Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau and each time our guide was superior or even better. We learned so much more than we anticipated. Highest recommendation possible!

Beautiful trip by nolenz

Plan on a whale watch in Icy Strait. Having been to Alaska multiple times, we mainly explored on our own and enjoyed this very much. Excursions are becoming very expensive

Great Cruise!! by garywm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

One of the best vacation packages we have ever done. The Princess company was extremely organized. We did not have to touch our luggage from the time we left our first hotel in Vancouver till we got to the airport at the end of the land portion of our trip. After getting off the ship in Anchorage, the bags were taken to our first hotel and when we arrived a hostess handed us our room keys. The room was ready and the luggage was in the room. Same thing happened at each stop. Not having to deal with luggage and long check in lines made the trip much more relaxing and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Princess for cruises AND land tours.

First and probably last cruise by MGrube

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was our first cruise. I have been very hesitant to take a cruise. I didn’t find the prospect of being on a huge ship with over 2000 other passengers very appealing. But several friends and family convinced us to give it a try, so we joined 4 other people on a 7-day Alaska cruise from Vancouver BC to Whittier AK. If this was any indication of what cruise vacations are like, it will be my first and last cruise.

Restful but disappointing by UnhappyCamper4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

It would be nice if the cruise director were evident, also if Solo travelers were paid some attention. An unhosted lunch scheduled with no one from ship to escort is ridiculous and a waste of my time. There will be more Solo travelers in future, pay more attention to them. Cocktail hour for Elites is great idea, it could be a good mixer.

Nice Cruise- Well worth it! by jmmagee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Had a great time. Staff was over the top friendly and efficient. The entertainment /activities were very good. The daily breakfast/lunch buffet food was very good, but dining room food was average. It appears the cruise lines have changed since our last cruise over ten years ago, moving what used to be great entree's/meals to the upscale dining room options as an additional revenue source. However, in talking with others this is common practice for all cruise lines. Overall, I would recommend this cruise, and I would certainly cruise with Royal Caribbean again.

Loved some aspects, but wasn't impressed with others by CTCB

Carnival cruise lines is always getting a bad rap, but compared to our recent cruise on RC, I think Carnival wins in my opinion. Our ship was beautiful with nice features and options, but dining options outside of specialty dining was limited in scope and time availability. And the service lacked warmth and feeling. I've never felt less pampered on a cruise. Overall, a good experience. But my first choice for my next cruise is Carnival. Guy's Burger Joint, 24-hour pizza and ice cream, and happier employees. RC needs to step up their game.

Alaska is beautiful! by phumason

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was our 6th cruise with Celebrity and I was extremely surprised by how much has changed. So many cut backs that really affected our cruise experience. I'm not sure if we will be taking another cruise with them. Very sad because we always thought Celebrity was an excellent cruise line.

Family cruise to alaska by desertconcepts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We had a great time. There wasn't as much night life on this cruise as others weve been on. Ages ranged 22 - 55, but then again most of the people were older. They did a good job of everything the majority of the time and the staff were excellent, efficient, eager to please and generally really great. Really no complaints. The ports were very touristy but we are tourists, after all. Had the best time in Homer after our cruise staying in a cabin and fishing. Alaska is an amazing state. Very expensive but a bucket list trip worth experiencing.

Nice Ports/older ships by lisacart60

Would not recommend for younger travelers. Most programs geared for older crowd. Just pretty boring.

To see all that is spectacular about Alaska, you have to be at sea for much of it! by StayFabulous

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I would recommend this cruise to anyone who loves nature. The ship is very comfortable for multi-generations traveling together as well as other adults. My group was six professional women, and we felt very comfortable onboard. It is not really a party, party ship - it is a very fun adult fun ship which I liked. I had great time!

Alaska Cruise by lisacart601

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Would take a different ship/line next time. This ship did not have much in the way of entertainment. The comedian was constantly checking his watch so that he didn't go over 45 minutes. It was awkward. Main restaurants had very limited time frames. Charge $7.95 for room service any time of day. Not the shipboard experience I was hoping that my family would enjoy. Some great crew members...some not so great. Food average.

Beautiful Alaska scenery by srtgsm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Not sure we will travel with this cruise line again. Disappointed on several issues. The biggest being "hounded" by staff at every turn to purchase a special drink or dinner package...seriously! The accounting department has become more creative in trying to generate revenue for items that should be included in your fare...such as wine/beer/soda with dinner and wifi. By the time we finished our cruise, the cost nearly doubled. I could have gone with a different company that charges more but includes speciality coffee, speciality dining, beer-wine with lunch and dinner, free wifi, and an included excursion with every port. Perhaps having tiers of cruise prices such as bargain basement vs all inclusive. At least you'd have a better idea of what you were getting yourself into....
