Although it's nice to walk about Galveston, it's probably the hardest port to get to if you're flying in. Fly into Houston and getting from here to there is a nightmare.

We did not do an excursion as we were in process of getting on and off the ship as soon as possible. It was a bit confusing on where to go when we got to the embarking process at first but all worked out.

Hotels in the area that are park and cruise are expensive. We opted to stay a little further out (over by NASA) and use the parking at the port. Saved a lot of money doing it this way.

Being handicapped, this is the best port to get on off a cruise ship
