Great area. If you're staying there before the cruise, know that it's mostly concrete and water ways in a 10-15 minute radius. If your stay at a place a little further out there's much more to do.

We did plenty of excursions in the ports and they were super nice clean and safe

Didn't do a ship excursion, but really enjoyed an extra day here to see the River Walk and take the water taxis to see a lot. Loved this.

If you are staying over night. Good highend dive bar Southport Raw Bar. We also like hanging out on Las Olas Blvd. eat at Raco’s Taco’s. Then catch a golf cart to the Elbo Room at the corner of Las Olas and A1A. Great old dive bar. Been there since the 30’s. Then finish the night with some oysters from G&B ouster Bar.

We stayed at airbnb's pre and post cruise and would do so again. Much cheaper than a hotel and each airbnb was in an area we felt comfortable staying in and enjoyed exploring.
