Beautiful Historic City with southern charm. Foodie heaven. We went on a foodie tour in August of 2014 in a downpour of rain, but still had a nice time. It can be a walkable city but if time is an issue a carriage tour might be a good idea. We were there for several days so had time to explore and go to the markets. There is a market near the port, historic city market, four blocks long. There is another market at Marion Square. We also went on a plantation tour. I had been there before and had gone to Fort Sumter and a different plantation. One night we had a pirate ghost tour planned but a rain storm and high tide ruined the evening. Sadly some of the foodie places have closed, like Justine's. Be sure to grab some grits and try some cola cake.
