We'd been to San Francisco before so there we took the duck tour privately. We also went shopping.

Hop on hop off bus tour is a good choice but pay attention to where you get off because there are no signs to tell you where to pick bus up again. It is an easy walk from the ship to Fisherman's Wharf.

We love this port! It gives an opportunity to drive here from our house and enjoy the city before or after a cruise. Thank you for creating this gateway!

Loved it! it was so easy to walk off and enjoy the city without paying for a tour! So much to see. I would have liked to have time to bike the Golden Gate Bridge.

We took a private Tour. Ended up at Boudin Bakery and Cafe on Fisherman's Wharf. They make their own sourdough bread and you can get a Clam Chowder bread bowl which is absolutely delicious. We got a bonus as the Blue Angels were practicing over the San Francisco Bay for the air show.

We went 3 days early to see the city and liked it a lot. Lots to see. City felt safe. Lots of great public transportation. We rented a car, but shouldn't of. Parking very expensive. At least $12 minimum. Other than that, loved it. Would love to go back someday.

We loved this entire itinerary so we loved every port and scenic cruising day as they all had their charm. And we were lucky enough to have pretty good weather for them all.

I loved San Francisco. Enjoyed going on Deck 16 at 5:30 am to see the ship go under the Golden Gate Bridge... and at 11:30 pm from my balcony. Loved going to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, the Fortune Cookie Factory, the Mrs.Doubtfire Home, and so many other stops. We booked an SUV and driver, and had the greatest time with our friends who live in San Francisco.

SF is a crazy town. We drove in the day before our cruise. Amazing sights, sounds, and smells. Lots of tourists enjoying themselves but always looking over their shoulder, anticipating something crazy to happen. Saw an elderly woman crossing the street and when a car stopped just barely into the crosswalk, she cursed out the driver and gave him two birds. Saw drunks yelling at invisible foes and throwing bottles down the street. Saw a lady walking her dog and let it piss on someone's doorstep. But what a vibe this place has; where history and dystopia meet. Can't wait to come back. We just walked around the Warf and Ghirardelli square. Some shops in between the two had decent prices for souvenirs/clothes.

Getting around San Francisco Not sure if this has been mentioned before. We brought a pass from Walgreens for the mummi transport system, this enabled us to go on all mummi transport except the underground/tube as many times as we liked. We paid $33US for 3 days which saved us a fortune as just one trip on a cable car is $7 per trip regardless of how long.
