This is a great port for walking. The ship docked at Pier 35 and we walked down the waterfront to Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, the Ship Museum and Ghirardelli Square. Could see the cable cars coming and going. If you like to walk, this is a great walk.

At first we booked the transfers to the ship from the airport. However, I read that they put you on a bus and you set there for 3 hours before going to the dock. I even talked to the lady’s that were meeting you at baggage claim and they confirmed this. We opted to get a private limo to the ship. We were in San Francisco this past Sept and spent all of our time there in the area of Fisherman's Wharf, so we knew where to go before we sailed. We dropped our bags at the ship when we first got there and walked down to Fisherman's Wharf, maybe a quarter of a mile. Had a nice relaxing time until we could board.
