I really enjoyed New Orleans. My favorite part was probably the French Quarter. All the architecture is so fun to look at and the many shops were pretty cool. I am visiting again Feb 7th.

I wanted to let anyone that has reservations at Days Inn Gretna, know what happened to us. Even though it is a year till our cruise, I went ahead and made reservations because everything was getting booked up. Just a day or so ago we got our credit card statement and was already charged for the room. That wasn't suppose to happen. So I tried to call them and couldn't get an answer. I called another Days Inn there in New Orleans. It seems that they have closed and are charging people for rooms. Evidently I am not the only one they have done this to because the manager said they have been food this by some other people also. So if by chance you have booked here, you might can prevent this from happening to you.

NOLA is a mixed bag. Plusses, you have amazing history, stellar architecture, the Garden District, French Quarter, Cafe du Monde and Cemeteries. If you are a foodie, it's hard to find another city with more to offer. Minuses, remain vigilant of your belongings and where you are strolling around.

I port was really smooth, but there is one cadviot that would like to add. Make sure you account for parking in your budget. The port parking is expensive, and if you stay anywhere in the city parking is expensive.

Didn't care for this area. Very cluttered and ran into some very rude people. Would not port from here again. Did like the cruise aboard the Dream. Was a very nice ship.

Didn't do an excursion. I didny explore the city. We parked at Fulton Garbage for $61 and took the free shuttle to the port.

I've called New Orleans "the most European" of American of American cities. You can't do the French Quarter in an hour, so don't try. The Big Easy should be explored at your liesure to find the beauty and uniqueness we love. Try the Jazz Memorial Gardens on Boubon street and listen to Steamboat Willie. You can spend a wonderful day at the Aquarium of the Americas, or a whole day at the WWII museum. (While you are there, talk to one of the veterans of the war while there are still a few left.) Take your time. If you're looking for shiny and new, this is the wrong place.

Has changed since my last visit. French Quarter and bourbon seem to be filled with scammers and pan handlers. Beware. Food was great

We stayed in Slidell the night before the cruise and ventured into New Orleans that night. We went down Bourbon Street and that was definitely an experience that everyone should try at least one.
