Review summary

Great overall experience. The lines in the MDR and specialty restaurants are long. I expected that because there were over 3000 people on the ship.

Embarkation

No issues at embarkation. It went very smoothly. Made it to the NOLA port at 12:30. We were in our cabin at 1:30 getting ready for lunch.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
My group consisted of 12 so we had 2 tables in the dining room. The kids were at table 419 and adults at table 421. The kids would get their food and dessert b/f our waiter even took our order. Specialty restaurants were excellent especially Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana. The lunch and diner food in the Lido dining room would always be cold even if it was supposed to be served hot. There was a major fly problem in the Lido dining room. The lines are long in the MDR and specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I enjoyed Dj Billy Q's mixes, dance fun in the Hollywood club, BT's comedy show, the atmosphere at the Seaside Theater, Motown review with Deep Blue Soul and the variety singing duo.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My kids enjoyed the Circle C club. They stayed in there most of the trip. They also enjoyed playing basketball on the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our cabin Ranil was the absolute best. He learned everyone's name in our whole group. He kept our rooms neat and clean.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship layout was fine once we learned our way around it. Its a little confusing at first but once you figure out your location, you got it from there. All common areas were spotless. They were constantly cleaning.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had adjoining rooms that worked out great for a family of 4. We basically had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Kids are in one and parents in the other. Bed was comfortable, size of the cabin was larger than expected, bathroom is very small, cabin was very clean. Just spotless.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

4 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion. I didny explore the city. We parked at Fulton Garbage for $61 and took the free shuttle to the port.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion. Very pushy salesman. Every shop sold the same junk!

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

4 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion. When we docked, I looked out the window and it looked like a shipping port. It had lots of shipping containers. I found the people at this port to be friendlier than Cozumel.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Moved very fast. I had documents in hand and the line moved right along. On stayed on Deck 2 and we were the 3rd deck to disembark the ship.

I have read two comments about flies on the ship. I was on the Fantasy in July and we never saw any bugs , or insects at all.
