Best baguettes outside France. Take a couple of butter portions with you as Noumea doesn't do good dairy. All cream in pastries is "mock cream". Good wifi at maccas but food not what we get. Take some local currency for museum - don't accept card or other. Markets great.

Did not do a shore excursion, instead we got the free shuttle to the town centre and bought our own tickets to ride the Tchou Tchou Train. Think it was $30US but took us to all the popular tourist sites of the island. Great photo opportunites. Really got to see Noumea for what it was. Great tour. We also used the hop on/off bus. Great little market at the town centre for souvenirs. They took US/AUS $$

Not our favourite place. It wasn’t 20 years ago either but gave us a slightly better impression than last time. We did the aquarium tour and it was pretty good.

We booked the Amedee Island tour through the boat. Fantastic full day tour! Comfortable and modern boat for trip out to Amedee, great guide and generous buffet lunch provided. Water clarity here was probably the worst for our trip, although it did clear up out deeper and later in the day. Great opportunity to snorkel with turtles who are obviously used to people and pretty relaxed with observing snorkelers. Plenty of sea snakes to see both in the water or on the island. Best glass bottom boat tour I have been on (I usually find them boring) - great variety of sea life including turtle, snake, shark, giant trevalley, huge variety of tropical fish species. The lighthouse is also a popular attraction.

Lovely. Got the hop on hop off bus excursion from Port through Princess & that was great. Went to lots of places to markets & to beautiful lemon bay. Plenty of buses coming all the time to take you on somewhere else. Great service by buses. You could stay as long as you liked on places on the route.

Clean and well organized. Hop on hop off bus was all you need here. We loved the aquarium, ate at L’Annex in the park and food was delicious. Would love to return here.

I loved the tribal dance the local people did at the wharf as the ship docked. However, we were late leaving the Princess theatre for our excursion, and there wasn’t much time to explore Noumea through the ‘hop on hop off bus’ before returning back to the ship for the trip back to Melbourne.
