Wellington Cable Car and TePapa museum was good...cheaper to self explore with the cable car only costing $9NZ for an Adult return and the Te Papa Museum being free to enter.

this was a fun city to visit and easy to get around. we did a tour excursion but not through the ship since it was cheaper. we drove around the town, went to the botanical gardens, went to mt. victoria and rode the cable car. then we did some brewery hopping. there are stations around the town to take you back to the cruise ship.

I have to say I am impressed with the Wellington council for providing complimentary services into town. Tauranga offered a shuttle service that you had to pay for. We went up on the Cable Car and then walked down through the Botanic Gardens and Bolton Street Cemetery which were both beautiful and fascinating. If you have the time, take the Cable Car to the Kelburn Cable Car station and go to the Fragrifert- Victorian Perfumery. My mum and I loved this quaint perfumery that makes both traditional and Maori perfumes.

I loved Wellington, and could spend a lot of time there. So much to see and do. We rode the Cable Car, of course, and went through the museum at the top. There is a coffee shop and a wonderful perfumery up there also. Great views, and the Botanical Gardens there too. The Waterfront area of Wellington is brimming with things to see, do, eat and experience. A great Capital City!!
