Big country town, not a great deal to offer. Had a nice day here but again the line to get back to the ship for the tenders was over an hour long. Had a couple more drinks while we waited but would have preferred to be back on the ship sitting at the bar and having a swim.

Steam train ride to see Maori dancing was great, and the local museum and gallery is surprisingly good for such a small community. Very friendly, hospitable and interesting Maori locals.

Toured the arboretum on my excursion. I found it very interesting and saw many different species of trees, flowers and birds.
