3rd time. A favourite place. Ferry to Devonport- last time Waihiki … Both fabulous and very warm. Just lovely to potter around. Paddle on the beach. Have lunch. And a few steps only from the ship

We’ve been to Auckland many times so did not do an excursion. We headed up to Federal street to the Federal Deli for the best sandwiches in Auckland and wandered back to the ship.

We chose the Hobbiton tour from Aukand as the Tuaranga tour was sold out. this tour sells out early so if you plan to visit Hobbit/Lord of the Rings venue, decide early. This tour did become available later on but it begins in Aukland, which is a long bus trip of sevearl hours depending on traffic. Ours and several other buses arrived back after the ship was set to sail. fortunately tthe captain delayed his departure.
