The port was great. We went to Weihike Island for wine tasting. We have done this three times now

Enjoyed this port! There's a passenger bridge and walkway to Queen Street. I found NZ Fabrics and Yarns, 17 East Customs Street (entrance on Queen Street). Wonderful yarns, fabrics, and many kinds of needlework. We went up Victoria Street to the Sky Tower, which had great views. There are lots of stores as one wanders back to the portl

I may be biased in this review as I am a proud New Zealander but Auckland is such a beautiful city. The restaurants offer good foods if you want a nice lunch. On my cruise to the North Island we missed a port due to bad weather and spent 2 days in port at Auckland and loved every second of it. Shops are literally a 2 minute walk from the ship and they are not bad shops!

Very enjoyable. Slower paced than most busy cities, which makes it calming to visit.
