The shipmate tour left us standing in the sun waiting for a bus to arrive some 30 minutes after arriving at the rendezvous point. An overview of the city with a stop in the main square and the bronze statues that are a must-see.

Took tour - stuff too spread out to go it by yourself! Plan on lunch at one of the many open fire restaurants immediately in front of Port area. Hugh steaks! Share one; too large for one person!

Our excursion was poor, We had to spend most of the second day acquiring our Brazilian Visa, but had to chance to visit a leather clothing factory and buy extraordinary leather jackets reasonably priced for both me and my wife.

Took Princess' City Drive, Soccer Museum, and Legislative Palace tour. The drive included several stops for pictures, but it was the Soccer Museum I wanted to visit our high school coach had been on the US team in the 1930s. The museum is a treasure trove of football-soccer history on the site of the first World Cup with countless trophies, medals, and most importantly photos from the beautiful game. It would help if I knew Spanish, but the game is universal. The Legislative Palace was an after-thought; we visited the main hall but neither chamber of the legislature. Summary: Go see the Soccer Museum!
