We stayed in Buenos Aires for a week before the cruise with local friends and relatives and as always enjoyed the "Paris of South America" immensely, plenty to do with friendly residents always willing to try for you.

We were on Oceania's post cruise package and could not have been more impressed. We have always done our pre or post cruise stays ourselves. This was our first-time using Oceania. From the moment we left the ship until our tour guide walked us through the airport to our airline counter it was perfect. Just the right amount of guided tours and free time. The first visit to Cafe Tortoni was lovely. The visit to El Rosario de Areco, Estancia was so special. It was perfect being in a small group of 22 people which made it so much more personal. The hosts, Poncho and Florencia were so warm and welcoming and made the day a big family gathering with the gauchos, food and drink. The best day of the trip.

I’m not a big city person, but flew in the day before our cruise. We stayed at the Fierro Hotel on Solar Street. Transfers from the airport and to the port were arranged by the hotel and cost $55 per vehicle. It was a nice boutique hotel in a “safe” part of the city. The rooms were comfortable, and a delicious free breakfast was included. A restaurant is onsite and it too offered good food. I would stay there again.

We have been here before. Just took a Red Bus tour of the city which was almost 4 hours alone. Take the ship shuttle from airport to ship. Gets you and luggage where it is supposed to be, on time.

We took the final day excursion which toured Bueno Aires city and then we went to a gaucho ranch for lunch -- loved it. The cemetary was amazing!!!

We did the city highlights with airport transfer. Lengthy tour of the city. Loved the cafe, croissants and coffee we stopped to visit.

Once out of the terminal, we found the city to be fantastic. We took the yellow hop on hop off buses, good value for money, and got to see a lot of the city.

Did day trip to Iguazu falls. Very easy if you book flights early. Amazing views. Gaucho tour was great with amazing horse whisperer. Tango dinner at Aljibe was very very good.

Big big city with a traffic jam around every corner. You would need a lot more time to explore the many areas of the city. We did experience an excellent dinner at Don Julio’s in the Palermo district of the city. Make sure the meter is runnng if you take a taxi. You might be overcharged otherwise.
